What box type would you guys reccomend for 2 SA-12's on a Saz-2500D? I have a normal ported box around 3.5 cubes tuned to 35 hz that i'm gonna put them in when I get them but would like to start designing a new box so I can get it designed and built as soon as possible. Not looking for numbers just a loud and low daily driver. I know 4th orders are really efficient if designed right. But what about 6th orders and I don't know much about horns but would love to learn.

I have up to 6 cubic feet to play with, Extended cab Ford Ranger no wall so its a wide and tall box not very deep

Short version

4th Order Bandpass

6th Order bandpass

T-line

Horn

Which is best for a loud daily driver?

with that power, I'd stick with what you have airspace wise, and tune it lower with a good size port.

Same thing I was thinking.

So 4th order wouldn't be good? I have a couple people that can help me design it and i've been reading up on it quite a bit. But tuning lower was my original plan lol just wondered if I could get louder with a different box

Side fire into the cab corners with a 6" aero on each side. Try for 6-7ft^3 net. I have had the best results with my truck using side fire and subs forward.

How deep can the box be? You said it's going to be more wide and tall than deep, so I'm having a hard time seeing how a BP is going to work when you're going to need at least 14.5" in depth to fit the sub inside the box.

Not sure if these videos would help, but this guy has 2 15 AAs in his ranger subs up and you have to look at the box its tight.

I can go 15 deep but then I would be sitting like straight up and pretty close to the steering wheel. So I may just mess with ported boxes. Thanks for saying that though. Oh and I have heard that ports firing to the side is best so i may build something like that. I'll probably just drop the tuning on the box I have now though. Any ideas on the amount of port area? I'm gonna be using aero ports

Thanks for your help guys

Well i have 4 cubic feet before port displacement 2 4"s would only have 6.34" per cube

Actually it's Pi (3.14) x 2 x 2 = 12.56 and then double that since your using 2 4" diameter ports.

Aeros are more efficient due to the flares and can get away with less port area.

Ohh, I was just using Torres's calculator lol
