Wow! Awesome! I wouldn't have thought i would be visited but thanks for saying that!

Anyways, this build is a learning experience not just for me but for many...

We'll all have fun with this build. Able to run a single speaker in as large as 20+cuft at a time or smaller with a flip of a switch...

Able to add on excessive amounts of wire, etc.. measure realtime data during demos, competing, etc..

2013 will definitely be a year we don't want to forget.

i see this getting done early 2014 :P

You can try to top off the reservoir. Usually if it is low enough to trip the low fluid sensor it will also do it taking hard corners or heavy braking. I don't know what kind of bs someone is feeding you about brake pad thickness and fluid level. There should be a line on the side to show you where it should be filled to. May also need to bleed the brakes. Sometimes the abs can trap some air. I wouldn't bother with that until you replace the pads though. And for the love of all that is holy don't buy pads from a parts store or especially a brake shop. I would get some Hawk, Porterfield or EBC green/red. They are more money but if you ever feel real brakes you would never buy anything else again. I can help you put them on some weekend if you want.

your right, i got hawks on the front now and are way better.

I'll be gettin new slotted rotors and new hawks pads and new SS brake lines(comes with it all)

For the rear.. i'll probably opt for something better than stock just because of the weight i have right now.

I may or may not replace the rear rotors. If they are in pretty good shape, then i'll leave em alone.

I cant take hard corners anymore because of the weight but as of right now.. now it's doing it everytime i let off the brake...

It only comes on when i let off the brake.. but my braking performance has not changed so i'm just going to wait another month and get all the new brake stuff put on and if it still does it then.. then we know it's an internal issue somewhere.

i guess we can say this is the FIRST symptom from a Scion Tc with excessive car audio install.

Brake light indicator malfunction... Check.

Pretty good if that's all there is considering 1200lbs of epicness waiting to be turned on.

I don't know how the brake lights work on your car but every car I've worked on the brake lights are independant from the brakes.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? Maybe Maybe the shock sensor or such is is malfunctioning making the lights come on during acceleration.

Or maybe the switch is at the break pedal is broken or needs to be adjusted. un screw it from its mount and shake it and see if your llights come on.

Sounds to me that the brake light switch is busted. This particular switch is a push/pull design that is directly connected to your brake pedal (accessible under the dash at the brake pedal "arm". I had to replace mine.

Or your tail lights have a negative turn on and you have something pinching it making it ground out when you take off.

Maybe I'm a little confused. Is your actual brake lights coming on or the brake light on your dash?

The brake light thing is probaly the one inside the cluster. My tc does the same thing. 2007 Tc.

It started doing it when my brakes were pretty worn. It was due to the fluid level being just a little low due to the pads being a little worn. Its either the fluid due to pad wear or the e brake needs adjustment, but id lean towards the fluid. It should stop when you get the brakes serviced.

When the fluid is a little low and you take off at with good pace, the fluid shifts and goes farther from the sensor. Its nothing bad. Just watch the pad wear and fluid levels. Just dont top off the fluids unless theres a fluid leak. I work at a shop and theres reasons most places dont top off brake fluids when you have significant pad wear. 1. theres nothing wrong with it being a little low due to pad wear, topping it off is pointless. 2. Fluid levels double as a pad wear indicators. 3. It makes a hell of a mess when you service the brakes.(when you push the pistons back into caliper, fluid overflows from resevoir and goes everywhere) 4. its a sealed system the only reason youd ever need to add fluid is if there is a leak somewhere.

Well.. another delay again..

I had to special order some rare bolts because all of our local Fastenal and fastener specialists do not stock certain ultra fine thread metric bolts...

Ugh.... guess i'll work on something else while i wait.

FTL! You have had the worst luck with this build.

  • Author

Yea.. how does $19 sound for 2 bolts... must be extreme low demand.

They are-

M10 1.25 pitch 100mm length Class 12.9 Zinc plated hex head.

M8 1.25 pitch 60mm length Class 12.9 Zinc plated Allen head.

There is a reason why I chose allen head for smaller one.. it will make install 55x easier, lol

At this rate you minus well extend that to 2014

I have changed the topic of the thread for optimistic purposes.

I GUARANTEE i will get this build done before the deadline this time!

The epicness of TBD? sad.png

By the time this is done I'll have my new build done......again
