Posted August 13, 201114 yr Hey guys, I just got a new sub put in my car and my box is currently sliding around all over the place in the trunk, (I drive a Mazda Rx8 btw), the box sliding is annoying and unsafe.. so I'd like to fix it asap.I was hoping to get some ideas or suggestions on how to stop the movement! Thanks in advance! If pictures would help, let me know. I could try to get some!
August 13, 201114 yr Go to a hardware store and buy some L brackets (I think that's what they're called) its a piece of metal bent at a 90 degree angle with holes in it. You screw one end to your box and the other end into the trunk floor.Imma find a picEDIT: Here you go. Edited August 13, 201114 yr by An-i-no

August 13, 201114 yr Make sure your not screwing down into the gas tank Ah, it'll only leak when he's upside down.
August 13, 201114 yr Author Alright! That's what I was thinking but was open to other ideas as well, thanks!

It will leak fumes no matter which way his car is, might even make the check engine light come on.OP make a false floor for the trunk of the car then you can screw stuff down to it, that is how I did mine.
August 13, 201114 yr Author Ohhh, I do like that idea! How should I go about it? Get a cardboard cut-out first? Then trace it to some mdf?
August 13, 201114 yr Ohhh, I do like that idea! How should I go about it? Get a cardboard cut-out first? Then trace it to some mdf?You can do that, my car had a piece of carpet that was in the trunk, so I just took that out and traced it on some wood. To save a little bit of weight I used some 1/2 inch ply wood instead of MDF.
