August 27, 201114 yr Author her new amp aq2200stevemead is building her subs currently4 X Sundown Audio SA-8"s
August 27, 201114 yr Author i will grab a pic tomorrow for you, before it is gone...installed the AQ2200 today and there is differance for sure, i left mr.gain way down, sorta tempted to get it dialed in and find me a mic, see what she can do with the extra headroom....
August 27, 201114 yr Author gina installed the aq2200 last night, i hope to find a mic today to get metered, i think she gained a db. ?!lil ol ab subs just are too fun.....but they will tend to heat up....just gotta be carefull* carefull 2 8"s on 2200 watts....meant for 400w ....
August 29, 201114 yr Looking good bro!........but I was waiting to see the pink enclosure.....LOL!!!LMAO! It was an eye catcher!
August 30, 201114 yr I'm tuned in CHOP!!Looking forward to seeing how them SA-8's look in it and as I said before, I feel sorry for them poor little AB 8's on that 2200, LOL.
August 31, 201114 yr Author you know what......they are too cool imo....i am sure i could easily push them too far, but thats not our goal, never-the-less, seeing them hold on to those lows with that much headroom is impressive.... all four windows down and they can still flex the roof, flex enough to surf a cell phone across there! the new 8"s are here...my text from Regina was "those heavy ass subs came today"! lol, too awesome....i was thinking 4th order but might flip to just ported for now and do 4th after additional study time...it seems the Q suggest this to be a little tricky, big ol motors could get mean, plus i got extra power coming at them any how.we have nice cabin gain around mid 30's and again in the low 50's.....still trying to understand it well enough to want to build and try it... if cutlass build was not going on, perhaps that would be less of a caution.... one can not have too much mdf laying around, unless ones wife finds out how much one paid for it all, then one might be in deep doo-doo!
August 31, 201114 yr Author Awesome !!! I hope to see this team next month in Shreveport !!! talk to me bro, tell us more!always down for a good time!
September 3, 201114 yr Author 1 sheet of 3/4" birch, 4' x 8' and tight bond III purchased, bar clamps on standby, three day weekend!
September 26, 201113 yr Author 6 cubes? damnyes, but keep in mind i was referring to just the space the enclosure is going to take up. like outside dimensions type of approach...loloops, actually, 7.1 cubes out side dimensions!but still thats a big ol box for some 8" subs!
November 18, 201113 yr Any new ideas or movement on mama chop's build bro? I've found a few more respectable builders of flared ports.Could be a nice christmas grift for mama
January 28, 201213 yr Author okay, i deleted some trash that was on here overly hyping up a product and builder that was noy worthy, for all general terms, if it was not for my persistance, not sure what would it would of been called, but theft or scam.......failin the end, we recooped or cash, that is the end of that story.....so onto a ported box, test, play and see where we want to go from there.....most likely, ssa subs and a rebuild!!!!the wood is here, LONG story behing that.....should have build pics for tomorrow.and perhaps installed by sunday for breakend of subs to begin.
January 28, 201213 yr So what's goin in it?Glad to hear that business is back on track bro. Looking forward to seeing it get finished.
