So I have an 08 Grand Prix GXP currently with one 12" xcon in a khaotic enclosure and it beats hard and sounds good. Powered by a stetsom 1.5k. But I havent done a project in a while and I kinda want more bass in my car. Recently added memphis pf 6.5's and 6x9's powered by my p400-4.

I found 2 12" 1500 series dd's a guy has for sale with a custom built box with 6.5 cf for $225. Would this beat harder than my xcon. I know its a good deal but if it dont get me anywhere no need for the buy.

If this isnt a upgrade let me know what you guys think would be a better 2 sub combination than my single xcon or even a better single combo just figured might as well throw another sub in the trunk already lost the space.

More cone area, nice big box, likely to get louder, but may not sound as good, or the box might be shit.

but as far as subs would that be an upgrade due to the cone area from what I have?

I could save up for another box or sell my current if it sounds better the box is only $75 more he said it was professionally built and cost over $200

Not even in the same league. The DDs might get a bit louder due to sheer cone area, the Xcon will do everything better though, if you're used to a nice Xcon setup, going to DD1512s is probably not going to please you.

My trunks dimensions are 55 in wide,Narrows at about 25 in deep, narrows to 35 in, 42 in deep and 15/16 in high.

budget isnt really a factor looking for plans could take my time doing it

Ive head the dd's before. Wasnt all that impressed. Id keep the Xcon and later on add another one. You have a top of the line sub going from that to bottom of line subs is a downfrade dont you think? Less spiders, smaller vc, etc..

You don't have to upgrade the amp right away. At the moment, I'm only giving my Sundown Nightshades a combined 1500 RMS and they can handle much more. If I were you, I would pick up another XCON then upgrade your electrical until you are able to properly support an amp with around 3K RMS. As for the box, any chance you can build it yourself? There are a lot of people here who can help with designs.

Anywhere from 2500-3500 will really get a pair of Xcons moving. I think you have plenty of room in there, the only problem might be getting the box through the actual trunk opening. You could also upgrade to a single 15" Zcon and that would ramp up your output a good bit and require a smaller enclosure than a pair of Xcon 12s. The amp you have now makes enough power to saitisfy that beast too.

Save for the second Xcon if you have the room. More cone area than a single 15" for example. And cheaper than a Zcon. You won't have to sell your current xcon, only the badass box !

I can help you on the design, or build a box if you want. I'd get another xcon if I were you. Unless you don't want two run 2 12's. Then I'd look at a 15. There are more options but they would cost more, and you might need to get creative to fit them in the trunk.

Well I think Im settled I will save up for another xcon while having audibel customs build the box (flush subs kerfed port)

Im excited to get this going needed a new project however have to get the funds now thats the hard part lol but IT WILL HAPPEN ASAP
