I'm shooting for a streetbeat run of 155.x or better with the new alt.

Pos car. I pulled into the show and flames ran out my cowl and up my window. Shut it down, popped the hood fire burned right out. No real damage found. I guess shoe-horning this huge alternator in here messed up one of the power steering lines. Sprayed on the headers and voila, fire. Waiting for the flatbed to come pick it up and drag it home then its time to party at the show.

Hopefully you just need to replace a rubber line then your good to go.

That sux, on a better note, I am now following your build and I like the new edge, nice vehicle choice there sir. I hear the sync was going under revamp tho, not sure for what year, it was either 12 or 13, can't remember.

heres a little idea about what happened. the post on the back of the alternator is in a different place than the stock unit. the longer and relocated post grounded out against the power steering line. i did notice the close clearence but not that it would pose any harm. under heave torque in reverse the post contacted the metal line burning a hole in the line and setting the fire. i have a call into singer, im waiting to hear back my options.

I already ordered the new line since i couldnt find a new one local.

Also worked with Mike Singer today about my alternator issue. im sending it back and hes gonna rework it for me so i wont have this problem again. Good dude!

I also am working on a 2nd alternator un on the passenger side head. having turbo'd one of these in the past i know you need to relocate the alternator to fit the turbo down below.

That being said i know what needs to be done to make it happen cap'n. I will soon have the FIRST dual alt LS1 camaro.

400a at idle, 700 at 1200 rpms.Im also eliminating the spring loaded belt tensioner and using the 2nd alt as the tensioner.
