Posted October 19, 201113 yr The Double Deez are out, no porno. :\ Now I'm gonna try a pair of JBL w15GTi's. If you missed the original build feel free and check it out here. Worst build ever! This is a straight drop in replacement, so things might not work out as planned. We'll just have to see what happens. I'm not looking to get louder, just looking for a cleaner soundLets get started with some disassembly pics. Dang these fhawkers are heavy! A little side by side action. Those JBLs are wild looking fo sho!Side by side looking down at the cones. The DD have the edge on this one with the carbon fiber dust caps. With the tall-n-narrow surrounds the DD also look bigger.I ran out of daylight before I could get them wired up but here is a teaser shot of the finished product. Muahahahahahah! On a side note here is a pic of a little something I picked up to maintain the batteries.I'm probably gonna have to get a second charger, because one to charge and maintain 8 batteries is going to take forever. Going with a second charger will also require me to modify the battery bank wiring. I need to figure a way to split the bank to a pair banks, one for each charger. Any recommendations?Discuss.
October 19, 201113 yr I wouldn't see the need to split the battery bank. The chargers are each going to charge to their capabilities whether another is present or not, unless the "intelligent" circuitry causes some sort of issue. Otherwise, we've used multiple chargers on the gel cell's at our meter locations on the pipeline, when the power has gone out and the batteries have been fairly deeply discharged, for the same reason that it was going to take forever with just the one that was in place.

I'm gonna inquire about it to XS Power and see what they would have to say about it. Thanks for the info. What vehicle is that, if you don't mind me asking?04 Chevy Suburban
October 19, 201113 yr Hmmm....just wondering if the box was a lil small or if the cargo space was just huge lol. Your amp looks like a small table...

Just to explain it, the chargers that are in place are 6amp chargers which are generally plenty. Since the batteries are wired directly to the equipment the charger usually shows a 1.5amp rate where it's running the equipment, much like an alternator does for a car. However, when the batteries get pretty discharged you'll see the amp meter pegged out at 6 amps and it takes it a great deal of time to recharge them. Sometimes it can't even keep up with running the equipment and the charge. That's when we bring in a couple of regular 10amp automotive chargers and connect them as well. When we have done that we've seen all three chargers pegged for a period of time and as the batteries recover the amp meters go down as less and less current is required to replenish the charge. Once that happens we pull the automotive chargers and let the 6amp charger take care of business. Most of these locations have four to six 100 or 110aH batteries that have to be maintained.
October 19, 201113 yr Personally, I fucking hate that charger. I bought 2 and they both broke.. Why are the DDs out?

I mean will another charger confuse it and think the batteries are fully charged or cause it to go nuts? Waiting to here what XS Power has to say about the matter. It'd be cool as heck if I could just hook up the pair of chargers without having to divide the bank of batteries. This charger is a 15 amp unit for those wondering.
October 19, 201113 yr Author Personally, I fucking hate that charger. I bought 2 and they both broke.. Chit, that sux. What happend? Why are the DDs out?I'm just curious to see how the JBLs will sound. I've got a pair in my home setup and they rock. I think with a little cabin gain they'll be just as loud and sound cleaner. Blend better with the mid-bass.
October 19, 201113 yr I made a thread about the second broken charger. It would say the battery is fully charged after seconds of being turned on. The first one was fucked up internally too, it would charge low as fuck and think it's fully charged.Honestly bro, if you don't mind waiting.. return the charger, get your 200 back n go get a regular charger from pep boys for 50 bucks thats what I did and I couldn't be happier.

I ran this one on a Deka Intimidator and it seemed fine. I had a volt meter on it just in case. It started out at 14.4, after an hour and a half it was down to 14.0, which seems on part with what the manual said it would do. The battery was on the charger for about 3 hours, but I never got the fully charged green light. The Deka was at 12.4 before I got it on the charger. None the less, brand and model number of the one you got a Pep Boys for $50. I want to check it out for myself. its on again!!Naw, just a little something for chits and giggles. Those JBLs look sexci!!!They are about as different as they come. Wait for the clear pic of them invert mounted, along with the Warhorse, this should gather some attention. Those JBLs should sound great in there. We'll see. I'm getting a little antsy waiting to finish it off and get it going.
October 19, 201113 yr Hmmm....just wondering if the box was a lil small or if the cargo space was just huge lol. Your amp looks like a LARGE table...Fixed.Going inverted?? that's always sexy!!! Keep up the great work!!
October 19, 201113 yr I'm getting a little antsy waiting to finish it off. That's what she said. Looks good Buddy. Actually , looks pretty badass with the subs inverted and that monster amp.

Actually , looks pretty badass with the subs inverted and that monster amp.Lol. Thanks fellas. Since I'll possibly be losing a little bit of out put I figure I'd go full tilt on the WOW factor and go the invert sub mount. Here are some real pics of what the finished product will look like. WOW!Here is an over the shoulder look towards the rear.Third row seats are hiding all the bling. Lets try that shot again with the third row seat folded down. Much better.
October 20, 201113 yr .Here are some real pics of what the finished product will look like. That just made it move a little.Nice Bro!

October 20, 201113 yr i love the way it looks from the back.. looks much sharper IMO. but the jackers will love it too.. go hugo!
October 20, 201113 yr Author Arent those jbl subs only 800wrms?5000w peak O_oNice upgrade! GTi is a great driverThanks. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SCM0/SE1052.oap?ck=Search_battery+chargers_N0360_-1_-1&keyword=battery+chargers&pt=N0360&ppt=C0005The one I got didn't have the 50amp engine start though.Interesting. I looked into some of those Schumacher chargers, and even the big DieHard charger I've got. The consensus was that at some point they'll charge at over 14.7 volts causing too much gas build up in sealed batteries. i love the way it looks from the back.. looks much sharper IMO. but the jackers will love it too.. go hugo! Thanks I dig the way it looks too. Might even be able to gather more attention than some of those scandaley clad bikini girls as some of the shows. As for the jackers..... For what it's worth the tint is pretty dark on the Suburban. If any thing I'll just throw a blanket over them when parked some where, so you cant see what's under there. We can only do so much. :\Back to work
October 20, 201113 yr my shumacher has gone up to 15.5 before. why is that? i have one like bangins and a newer one that has AGM option like this vvvvvv
October 20, 201113 yr 15.5v is fine for a agm 12v battery. High voltage and low amperage is a good way to charge, at least from talking to Nick from Fi and a few others.
