Posted December 11, 201113 yr I want to put 4 of these under my car for now. I wired up my sub and mono amp, but when it comes to finding a multi-channel amp I have no idea what to look for. I know that the horns can handle 150w and they are 8-ohms so two of them wired together should equal 4ohms. So if I have 4 horns that means I need a amp that does 300x2 at 4ohms right? My main problem is that most amps that say 300x2 at 4ohms say bridged and I'm a noob and don't know what bridged means that is what I need help with. Some amps I'm looking at.http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24110_MB-Quart-ONX4.80.htmlhttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22708_Hifonics-HFi100.4.htmlhttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34762_Rockford-Fosgate-R600-4D.htmlThe Fosgate is at the top of the price range. I just want something I can set the high pass filter on and it will sound as clear as can be through the horns. Open to suggestions so fire away. Thanks.
December 11, 201113 yr Author under the car?Yes sir two in the front grill and two under the back bumper out of view or all four on the roof I haven't decided. I will only hook them up for shows and maybe the occasional party.Nice build log BTW. Edited December 11, 201113 yr by Fearz
December 11, 201113 yr bridged means you are Bridging the two channels to yield one channel! kind a like making the multi channel amp a mono channel amp! this is done to get more power out of an amp at a higher impedance! give this a quick read it was the first thing to come up with i searched bridging an amp.http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/what-bridging-amp-2359/
December 11, 201113 yr Author You're not trying to build anything like that are ya? All I can say is WOW. That guy loves his fingerprints.lol I don't want to go that overboard I just want a little something.

Now I just need recommendations on amps that do at least 300x2 at 4ohms bridged.
December 11, 201113 yr How much are you looking to spend? Incriminator, Sundown, Rockford and many others make amplifiers rated at 300x2 @4ohms.
December 11, 201113 yr Author How much are you looking to spend? Incriminator, Sundown, Rockford and many others make amplifiers rated at 300x2 @4ohms.$250 max, but i want to try to stay under $200 because it is just for the horns. Edited December 11, 201113 yr by Fearz
December 11, 201113 yr You could probably use much less power and still get the desired result. I bet those horns would get very loud with 50 watts each. Are you comfortable buying a used amplifier? There aren't many high quality amps capable of 300x2 @4 under $200 new.
December 11, 201113 yr The Rockford Fosgate R600-4D is now within your reach at about $240. This wouldn't be my first choice but it's probably better than most others at this power/price point.

This wouldn't be my first choice but it's probably better than most others at this power/price point.I was thinking of getting it, but I actually was looking at the Hifonics(I know) for what I would use it for(only every now and then).I also have to take in account that I need a efficient amp because I have a cresendo 2k also running on stock electrical with an added battery. I just want a decent new 80x4 or maybe used 100x4 that I could use to run maybe some decent mids and highs when I finally decide to tear up my doors.

I also started a topic in the for sale section to see what other members have to offer. I'm still a little hesitant to purchase used just because of the no warranty factor.WTB topic: Edited December 11, 201113 yr by Fearz
