February 11, 200619 yr That's one sexy driver. The thing that really jumps out at me is the ultra small box requirements ... now that's attractive.
February 12, 200619 yr Looks like my e8a from behind with a black basket. Is there any clearance issues with the cone touching the basket on the downward stroke ?If my e8a had that much throw i think it would hit. Maybe uts because of the flat cone though
February 12, 200619 yr lol i just found this forum this morning and read from alllllll the way back. want 4 badass 8's sealed. kinda funny i just checked in now and he is ready to release them so really i dint have to wait at all does that make any sence?

February 12, 200619 yr Author > Is there any clearance issues with the cone touching the basket Not through its linear throw to be sure. I will be pumpin' some seriously excessive power to the driver this week and will see if this issue comes up, but it looks to offer acceptable clearance so I'm not expecting any problem.> Also, magnet boot's suckNot hard to take it off. > recommended rms power?350 wrms> would there be a noticeable improvement over the older models? This driver is 3dB more efficient than the older model and also features a copper shorting sleeve which will be sure to improve the sound quality. Enclosure characteristics will be comparable.
February 12, 200619 yr Admin WOW, finally they are on their way, will there be a mounting gasket?this could be the best 8"er out today
February 12, 200619 yr Looks great Mike!I may very well pick up a pair (or 4, or 6) at somepoint in the future.I presume high frequency extension is still rather limited on these?

Excessive power....uughhh ughh uugghh / tim allen gruntThose baskets arent really that deep for how much throw the woofer has.
