the Sundown SAZ-1500Dv.2 is $525.

you get what you pay for

you get what you pay for

WERD

do you mean why does it cost 560$ in comparison to say a audioAQ or audiopipe or those other cheaper brands? well quality I would say and customer service plus well you get what you pay for and you will see on the long haul which brands will last the longest and will take the most abuse.

kind a like amp A can take way more abuse and work in extreme conditions (like 0.5ohm loads) while if you put a half ohm load on amp B it will self destruct!

Such high output form a small footprint is worth the dough to most people.

Pretty sure it's Chinese made and not korean made.. so yes quality is lower. but I havent been keeping up with them.

Yes, AQ is cheap.

They are made in Korea.... says it on the sticker. Does that make it higher quality? Lol

My aq1200 d says made in Korea on the bottom.

American > Korean > Chinese

Now what Duran!!

Yes, AQ is cheap.

Sorry Duran, but I kinda think you put your foot in your mouth on this one ...

just saying ...

Japanese > American > Korean > Chinese

I fixed it for you.

I'd much rather have, for example, ZED > Sony.

It's a basic off the shelf board in a basic case, shipped from overseas, yes they have their market, but how are they not cheap?

I think they're quite cheap for what you get. Good, Korean made amps for a low price. AQ/DD are both made in Korea. They can keep the prices lower because they don't advertise and are an internet based company, just the bastard child of Digital Designs. Or is it the father?

DD was before AQ, but DJ at AQ is the father of the DD guy (I forget his name).

5-6 years ago I'd have Sony over Zed personally.

I kinda laugh at the statement "Good product at a good price", the price to make it they're probably STILL making over 100% profit.

I know this ... I'm a American Built Class A/B amp guy ...

All I'm saying is A LOT of people use AQ on this site (daily and competition) ... I just don't think a SSA Mod should downgrade a product simply because he don't use it ... Regardless if its "cheap" or not ...

Again, just saying bro ...

Current product lineups, sure.

But Sony has a ton of amps in their history which are very high quality pieces of engineering using very high quality parts and construction. Hell, some of them still sell for several grand a piece....someone just posted a build log on here using a pair of them. With the engineering capabilities and capital of Sony they could dominate again fairly easily if they chose....the quantity and margins just aren't there in that market anymore, likely more profitable for them to stick with the more entry level gear they presently offer.
