Posted February 2, 201213 yr Okay, so I finally was able to buy some Sundown product!!! Well I bought an SD2-10 and a Sundown SAX100.4. I read on the forums that the recommended box size was .5 cu ft sealed. Upon installing I had my Dad build the box and he told me that with sealed bigger is better. I believe the dimensions of the box are as follows...Top Width - 18"Bottom Width - 23"Depth - 9.5"Height - 13"Now granted these are external dimensions and we used .75" MDF... I'm just curious is this box too big for the sub? I have the sub wired to a 4ohm load on the rear channels of the 100.4.Any input would be greatly appreciated
February 3, 201213 yr hey try it out and if you don't like it put 1lb of polly fill in it and see if you like how that sounds!
February 3, 201213 yr Author Oh that reminds me, we already put poly fill in the box... I'm just wondering if I'm getting the peak performance out of the sub with the way it is set up now. I thought that I would be happy with the way it sounds, but I was looking for it to be louder and that's why I'm wondering if it's not at it's peak performance.
February 3, 201213 yr If you can, port the existing enclosure with a 3" aero port tuned to 38hz. Side fire into the cab corner. You should see a nice increase in output.
