I got scammed out of my amp by Bakedboy08 on here and I don't know what to do because this has never happened me before. Am I pretty much screwed over because it was a trade agreement and not a sale? I already made a feedback add for the whole transaction. Is that pretty much all I can do??

Contact the police where he lives

I hope you have the serial number off the amp for proof of property.

he has not been on here in a while either. FEB 18 was his last post.

how long ago did you send your amp off?? and when was it received, and when was the last contact you had?

Make a police report about it and try and post on as many audio forums as you can and hope someone that knows him or lives near him can help you out. Save all your correspondences between you and him as proof of agreement on the transaction.

Do you have his phone number?

I do have his phone number I've been calling or texting him since we agreed on the trade and he hasn't answered my text since Feb 12. and the last message I received from him was a PM on here that said he would send the amp in 2 days which was a week ago.

I sent my amp Feb 1st and the first delivery attempt was made Feb 3rd and finally delivered to him Feb 21st and I haven't heard anything from him. I've called and text him everyday this week.

Crap I do not I looked through all of my pictures of the amp, and I never took one of the serial number. I bought it as a refurb from db-r

damn that shit sucks man..... I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it gets worked out. Pretty shitty for real.

FML that's what I get for being a nice guy... I sent the amp the next day after we agreed on the trade priority mail assuming he would do the same. He did have some feedback from sales on here and had enough post for me to think I didn't have anything to worry about.

Thanks man I gave him plenty of time. Even gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was busy, but when you stop communication that's when I get upset.

Worth making a call to Chris (guy who runs db-r). You never know, he might just have it written down.

Thanks I'll make the call on Monday. Hopefully he has it so I can make a police report.

I had an amp stolen from me, I found it in a pawn shop the next week. Cops told me I couldn't file a report because I didn't have the serial number. I hope it all works out for you man. Shit happens to good people, and it sucks.

Thanks man I've always dealt with good people on forums I guess there is always 1 bad apple.

Well, there is always 2 sides to a story..

I'm surprised nobody noticed the part where he says 1st delivery attempt was feb 3, then finally delivered feb 21st..

that's a LONG time span for one package...

Sounds like he is either moving or something is going on that may be, at this time, out of his control.

Perhaps he doesnt have his phone anymore.. stolen, etc....

Anyways, if he were to try and intentionally scam you, why would it take 18 days for him just to receive the amp?

I'd still persue contact from him, just don't think it's intentional.

I would agree but he said that they were in contact with each other on the 17th. Why wouldn't he say something then?

true, perhaps whatever is going on is something he thought he could control but can't now..

Hell, for all we know he could be in jail for something, you know..

But go ahead and attempt police report. It's just a forceful way to get your message across.
