July 24, 201312 yr Author Can't believe I have missed all the updates. Looks great as usual Neal! I am with you on the need for multiple boxes. I am running sealed but am in the process of designing a ported box to swap out when I need the output. Inconvenient but so nice to have the option. Yes having options is the only way to be happy. Thanks Jeremy.
August 10, 201312 yr Author For the next week the Evil will sit silently in the dining room. Heading down Aaron's way to catch a ship to the islands.
September 2, 201312 yr Just read through tis whole thread today. Wow. Love how you show how versitile this hobby is...so many options depending on what you want to get out of it. Great reading- learned alot.

Great reading- learned alot. Thank you Lee. I have been having fun in this hobby since 1987 and it took too long to find an awesome group like we have here on SSA. Enjoy and ask all the questions you have because the depth on here is among the best.
September 3, 201312 yr Author How is the ported compared to sealed, Neal? Night and day. The Evil loves to breath and I should have been slapped for putting it in a sealed box.
September 3, 201312 yr Still sticking to the winter/summer thing? I can't possibly image after getting a taste of "dem lows" how could you go for sealed. You are not that old to be too loud.

The sealed box has been repositioned and modified for 3 JL 12W0's. So ported or nothing it will be and you sure are right I am not that old.
September 13, 201312 yr Author This is what I am using the sealed Evil box for. These sub are old school subs. 12w0 12ohm.
September 13, 201312 yr Reminds me of my old system in my 92 Silvy. around '95 I had 3 JL W6's in D6 config and a MTX thunder 2300. regular cab with the subs behind the seat...hella good lower back rub.LOL Those JL's do look good.
November 1, 201311 yr That is right a ZED! More pics to come...Looking good! Mine just shipped out a few days ago, cant wait.
November 1, 201311 yr Author I have more pics, but photobucket does not want to work. I have a couple things to do for the final install.
November 2, 201311 yr Author What speakers will get the honors of having Zed power? AA Carbons, JL silk tweets, and maybe Fountek FR89EX 3".
November 2, 201311 yr Author Honestly at this point in a direct swap out with the sundown, I am very happy! My front end sounded pretty good on the sundown, but the zed made the sound tighter and crisper with a hint of smooth highs. I am only running 2 channels on the zed and all settings on the amp are flat the same as my sundown was. I need to pick up another pair of rca cables to use channels 3 and 4. I also need to get a pair of jumpers to conect 5 and 6. Going from a 2 channel to a 6 channel will give me a little more room to play.
November 2, 201311 yr Author I'm jealous, I wish I never sold my two pair of AA carbons. Sounds like fun The carbons are some of my favorite mids and at some point I will get some more just to have in my collection.

I even emailed Nick @Fi and he said they may make mids again but its a longshot if they do.
