Posted May 8, 201213 yr JL 12w6v2 started to come apart in the market for new sub. Wil be powered by JL1000/1 in 1.75 ported Edited May 8, 201213 yr by 1stborn
May 8, 201213 yr If the tuning is right, you might be able to get away with an ICON. Box is a bit larger than recommended, but with you throwing less power to it, it will probably work pretty good.

This should help us give you better answers

May 8, 201213 yr It all depends on your enclosure. Will you take some pictures of it and post them here?
May 9, 201213 yr Popular Post Did it tear or come loose? Reason I ask is that it's unusual for the higher end JL subs to fail without some type of user error. Trying to eliminate any potential user error issues before you throw something else in there just to shred it as well.
May 9, 201213 yr You need some window tint, OP !Maybe you can recone the sub to sell it. You will find lot of buyers for a good JL sub like the w6.With the money, get an Icon or an Xcon from SSA.
May 10, 201213 yr Author If I Could get another one for $350 again I might but I'm looking for something different
May 10, 201213 yr what about the w6 do you like that makes you want something similar? This^^^You can get another W6 for 350, but if you can better explain your goals you might be able to get similar quality or better for less.
May 10, 201213 yr Had the w6 since '04 and i live in south TexasDamn. Hard life.Had the w6 since '04 and i live in south TexasDamn. Hard life.I lmao on this response!
May 13, 201213 yr Mr. 1stborn, all of your responses have been very short/little detail. If you can not develop a thought out response/question, than how can we offer an valid assistance?
May 13, 201213 yr The icon or xcon drivers would be suitable subs. I assume the box is jl's recommended specs? So it's more than likely tuned low, under 30 hertz. The w6 is designed to produce a flat response in smaller enclosures. If you use the same enclosure you will get a little peakier response with the icon or xcon but I don't think it would be a bad thing being you are also looking for output as well
May 16, 201213 yr refoam it if the surround is coming apart and call it a day. it seems like nothing is gonna beat ur W6 so this is the best case scenario. and way under ur budgethttp://w.mawebcenters.com/midwestspeaker/ecommerce/diy-repair-kits/specialty-refoam-kits/jl-audio/jl-audio-12w6v2-12-refoam-kit-f12-14.html
