I have a 2008 dodge caliber and I would like to put a double din in it. I could use some help on getting some head units to choose from. I plan on spending between $300-600, more if needed. I'm looking for a head unit that has 3 sets of pre outs, usb, good eq(more than just a 3 band eq), time alignment would be nice (just incase if I ever decide to mess with all that). navigation and bluetooth is all optional but wouldnt hurt. I also have the zed ra, if that makes any difference. one that I have looked at is the Pioneer AVH-P3400BH for $300. Any suggestions and experience on some would be much appreciated.

I was wondering that since i could not find one.

If you went used the older Alpine's control the H701.

I don't understand the 3 rca set request without asking for active crossovers.

I want 3 sets of pre outs in case if one day I decide to use a 4 channel amp on my mids/highs. I was kind of wanting the ability to go active one day if i chose to but i dont really care about it.

Don't they make adapters and dash kits to fit a single din HU in a factory double din location?

Yes they do. I have a single din in there right now but its starting to crap out on me and I would like to have a double din in there.

Buy any double din that has the features that you need and are looking for. Later if you want more eq options and time alignment: minidsp.com

sweet, ill take a look at that as well. Thanks.

There are some pros and cons to the Clarion. Kudos to Clarion for finally coming out with a double din with active built in. The downfall for me is a max of 12 db slope. I prefer steeper for my tweets. That may not be an issue for a lot of people though. Just don't run your tweets too low. The great thing is the capability to run dual bandpass. You can use the built in 3 way crossover section for a 3 way front stage and cross over your sub with the sub amp. Or the ability to use a widebander in place of a tweet.

It looks pretty sweet.

Right now all im running is two kicker ks 6x9s on a soundstream amp. After i get a new headunit im gonna start saving for a new front stage.

This should fit the bill. Double din, 3 way active, time alignment all the goodies.

I have been looking around and can't find any info on this unit. Anybody else have better luck finding information on the features?

Digital Time Alignment w/ 3-Way Crossover: Digital Time Alignment assures that the sound from each speaker reaches the listener at the same time for perfect sonic imaging. The 3-way crossover separates the sound into different bands to match each speaker's output range. The head unit provides various settings based your system's speaker configuration.

i doubt it will make that much of a difference to me. i will probably go with something like the jvc nt300. it has what i want and i can get it online for around $500, which is way better price for me with me trying to save money for my next set up. also, i might be able to get the jvc at dealer pricing and save a little more.
