Roku is cool, but it isn't like cable. I bought it hoping for the same, but it is effectively just for streaming certain sites to your TV. I use mine for netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Vudu. All cost money.

Can you not stream channels? What about netflix?

No. While the Roku site suggests this, you cannot stream channels.

Yes. Watching House on NF now.

Maybe I would be better off getting a WI-FI blueray?

Roku has a lot more channels than any other smart device/media streamer that I know of. Catastrophe Girl has all the Roku channels listed on her blog, and she maintains it pretty well.

What is the difference between the different models? I see they have several to choose from.

Quick question.

Tattoo, gun, or subwoofer? If you had to choose which one to buy next, what would be your choice, and why?

Some background:

Sub I currently have works, but always wanting to try new things...

Have a tattoo outline started, but needs to be finished at some point.

Getting a black powder rifle opens up a second hunting season for deer where I can't use my shotgun.

Which one to you feel at the moment would give you the most enjoyment ?

All of them. That's the problem. Black powder I can't use till next December, subwoofer will take a while to come in and necessitate a new box build etc.., tattoo, well isn't necessary or functional, but, something I like.

I would make a list of the three and prioritize in the order you feel will give you the most enjoyment. As I assume these are all for recreational use..It would be hard for another individual to  pick for you in this situation..As what I might do maybe different from the next person..ect,ect..And also evaluate the pro's and con's of each item.

On my way ti Chitown to pick up my birthday present.

Happy b-day!!

Thanks, but it's not until tomorrow.

Well happy early b-day..

And yesterday I started the install in the Escape.

Build Log?

Happy early Birthday.

I don't know all of them. I bought mine about 8 months ago. The 2 had 720 and the 3 had 1080 res. It was a no brainer for my 55 inch TV. The downside is, it (the Roku3) only has a single HDMI out. I would have also liked a digital audio out.

To the best of my knowledge the output is the only real difference.

So you do not have the stick?

None of the above, I'd go out to a nice restaurant.

Buffet?

could still go to a restaurant. that wouldn't be that large of an expense.

not too many buffet restaurants are considered to be very high of a quality...

I agree for the most part...I have been to a couple of nice ones..But most "decent" ones around here is just all you can eat "country cooking" But I would assume to have a plate of as much steak I could eat compared to a "itty bitty" filet mignon....
