Aaron, I just overcooked my processor.  Tell me if you notice a bump in the boinc numbers please.

I got a lot more than I expected on my first try.

Yes, there was a nice burst in output.  But you're making me worried about "cooking" your CPU.

That's pretty much exactly how mine was setup with a Bluetooth bridge. I set the phone volume to "max" and then controlled the volume through the C701.

Do you need more than 2way+sub? The $80 HU I bought does that, has Bluetooth, aux and USB.

What $80???  That would work for that

27 is about the smallest workspace I can use effectively without crazy slow downs.

I actually miss my second display a lot right now....

Technically 4 other displays, but 3 were in surround...

I wish the Hans G would have made another year or so.  Though this is better I would have liked a bit bigger or even wider.

Temp setup until the rest of the computer comes in.

Pretty set up!

When do the rest of the parts arrive.  Sorry I didn't have a lot of info to provide, I'm excited for your first build Though!

I never even tear mine apart anymore, the room mate handles that almost exclusively now.  Maybe when I switch to a more permanent case solution as a display or as a utilitarian rack style solution.

I haven't picked yet.

The rest of it should be in by Wednesday. No prob on the help, I talked with my IT buddy and told him a general idea of what I wanted and he put together a parts list. Our list was 70% the same with him making different choices in the parts I felt uncomfortable picking.

I believe the answer is yes. I had a Bluetooth module that connected to a 3.5mm to RCA cable. I used the C701 for volume.

Do you remember which bt module you used Michael? Any loss of sound quality?

It was actually an improvement for me at the time. I went from the 3.5mm jack to BT on a Galaxy Nexus. I never attempted Digital Out on any of my phones, because after I set up a wireless system, I never wanted to go back.

I used a Belkin adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CLYJ2I/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Only $30 back then.

If I was to do it again, I would make sure I got something that supports Bluetooth aptX. At least that was the most relevant codec in bluetooth the last time I was looking.

I wouldn't mind a vertical monitor off to the left, but I would be disappointed in the aesthetics.

I would want it to look like this.

The tower came in and it barely fits. I had to take off the hinges to slide it in. I can slide the tower back far enough to put the door back on, but I may leave it off and position the tower like this to allow more air flow (and easier access to stuff).

Margaret and I were checking it out this AM.

Pretty much why I built. All the pre-made computers have chincy power supplies.

I think that's why I mentioned hating pre built.  You will just end up upgrading those parts.

I just had my NAS, internal RAID, and back up drives all fail on me.

I lost everything.  Photos.  Everything.

Still don't know how or why.  If that can happen when I plan for the worst, you see why I get so paranoid about the simple parts that no one thinks about but we rely on so much.

Mine was 3 in a surround.  All horizontal, then a 4th above those 3.
