Also just because you carry doesn't mean you will choose to use it. I doubt I would try to pull my gun if I was within inches of someone who already had a gun on me and just wanted my wallet. But if I felt there was no way I could get out of it without taking a round I would rather have the chance to fight back than not.

Shit there were people who carried at some of the recent shootings, and they didn't feel like they had a reasonable shot and didn't fire back. Just because yoh carry doesn't mean every situation needs lethal force.

Absolutely. I would love to never have to use lethal force. Lots of people have been killed for less than a wallet though and I try to keep that in my mind to stay level headed. I can't say what I would do in my situation had I been carrying, but I've obviously thought about it a ton.

And I agree again! Sometimes trying to stop the bad guy turns into two shooters; which is much much worse. Unless the situation is nearly perfect, I'm not going to run out and try to be a superhero.

Luckily I live in an area for the majority of the year where I don't have to worry about such things. But it's also a great time for practice!

I have not had trouble loading, just once in a while posting.

Not sure if i posted but in headed to Witchita, Ks tomorrow morning. Is there anything i "cant miss"? Any good places for lunch?

Jimmy's Eggs is a pretty good place (breakfast & Such), also Mcallisters has great sandwhiches and tasty tea. Bei Wei is a really good Chinese place if you catch them late enough they're open around ~2, oh yeah Hog Wild has some pretty good BBQ too.

Why are you headed to Wichita?

We just wanted to replace a window. Now we're building a shore wall to restructure the fucking wall because it's half rotten. Shit.

Another fucking server error...

Let's try this again...

Gonna buy a new quad. Well, new to me. Looking at modded TRX450Rs. Looking for motorcross modded bikes. Anyone familiar with suspension mods for motorcrossing? Looking at +1.5 - +2 on the swingarms.

I am aware valving is dependent on rider weight. It is also dependent on how you plan to ride. I am carrying more weight then I expect to be come summer right now. I am 6'1" 218 right now. I expect, between lifting shifts from bulk to cut and the workout of riding hard, to be about 205 or so when we get down to really riding. I will need to get more used to the extra power and handling of the bike. I ride aggressive and pretty hard. The majority of my riding will be fast trails, moderate jumping, and heavy cornering. We have some places nearby that actually offer full scale MX race courses. My concerns are, who makes a good setup? What will be the benefits of single rate, double rate, and triple rate valving systems?

Generally springs are swapped out for weight, and valving is then tweaked for a "sweet spot." It's also pretty common to be able to use a stiffer spring, less valving, and end up with a plusher ride--though the latter is a bit generalized.

I'm not very familiar with quads, but coming from dirt bike suspension I would think most of the principles still apply.

Interesting.  Softer spring and more valving is more the norm on the snow.  Let the shocks do the work since you can adjust those.  Adjustability is what gives you a plush ride.

There's definitely many ways to skin a cat when it comes to suspension--ultimately testing is king.

Fortunately until recently I've always been happy with mine. On the last bike my father had (08 ktm) he probably changed the shim stack about fifty times, and different oil levels / weights, and springs until he got it where he liked it. Then he bought a newer bike (11 or 12 ktm, idr), and right out of the box it was better. Swapped the springs, and hasn't done much else,

Found my ghost.  Short on the one wire I didn't change.  Figures.  Boo on the original owner not fusing anything.  WTF.  Almost like it was a Ski Doo or somethin'

What's the wire for?

Spent half the day making it, but now I have stall bars for $80 instead of $500. :D

Still need to mount it to the wall.

Really just to go. Going to a place that sells higher quality groceries than Walmart. I've never been out there so I thought why not.
