Posted July 13, 201411 yr The reason I was asking is I have one but don't think it could take the abuse.
July 13, 201411 yr I run "home theater" subs in my car. If the t/s parameters permit for the alignment is what matters.

July 13, 201411 yr Is this for your doors or actual sub duty?Like stated above if it fits the alignment then why not.
July 13, 201411 yr I'm using a pair of the 8" model IB in the rear deck of the Olds. Last time I crawled in the trunk to look at them everything seemed just fine. Do pretty damn decent for their modest price as well.

July 13, 201411 yr Author depends on the sub. how do you know it too small? Look at my previous post http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-sd270a-88-10-dvc-subwoofer--295-486
July 14, 201411 yr If it were an HO 10 you could shrink it, never used that one. Car, home - doesn't matter, parameters do. I RARELY buy car stuff.
July 14, 201411 yr Have you ran the speaker numbers through WINisd to to how that alignment plots out? If you need someone to do it for you just ask.
July 14, 201411 yr That driver will roll off quick at 50hz in the 1.25cu enclosure. Calls for 5cu to not drop off until 30hz.

July 14, 201411 yr If you want anything that even remotely sounds good I would shot for atleast 40, 30 would be prefered.
July 14, 201411 yr Author So I would need the bigger box which I don't have room for. Thanks for the help! Edited July 14, 201411 yr by pmureika
