Would this be a good choice for a daily driver?

I listen to mostly rock music.

I know there are better choices but this is in my budget range.

If it fits your goals, budget and power requirements then yes. It doesnt take much to make a sub for daily use, these subs are used in daily installs everyday.

Didn't you just get the DCON/Khaotik combo in your trunk?

The kaotik box meets the dcon specs.

They went in my nephews trunk.

The HDS line works great for daily drivers. Their name implies "Heave Duty Street". lifter.gif

Now that this sub has some play time on it. It sounds great for the money. It can really slam.

That's good to hear, I'm putting two in a friend's car.

Looks good too.

I think you will be happy for the money as long as you get it in a good designed sub box.

But for a economy sub I don't think you can beat the ssa dcon for overall performance.
