Posted October 22, 201410 yr Goal is a stealth setup and enclosure needs to be small. Something capable of good output and above avg sound quality too. I would like to do a low-tuned ported alignment or a sealed in the .75-ish QTC zone. I have 900(+) RMS at 2 ohms or 600(plus) at 4 to work with. Will be built under armrest in a 97 Chevy Silverado. I realize I'm asking a lot, just looking at options.
October 22, 201410 yr I'm pretty sure DC subs don't require a big box. They might be a little deeper than you need them to be though. Need some dimensions
October 23, 201410 yr Author Currently have 1.1 cu ft, I can enlarge some and add a cupholder to look stock. Mounting depth would love something 6 or under, possibly 6-1/2 or so if there is no vent on the magnet. Stitched tinsels would be nice but may not happen. Budget is flexible, I'd rather wait for the right sub than sacrifice for the sake of a few bucks.
October 23, 201410 yr Author Sorry, can't find the "edit" on here-roughly 1.5-1.6 sealed or obviously smaller to include port would be the max. So tempting to be normal and go behind the seat lol.
October 23, 201410 yr Dayton HO would work ported Sealed almost any 12 designed for it on the site should be fine.
October 29, 201410 yr Author As far as the SSA line goes for me, I am between the Gcon 12 and the Icon 12. I'm curious which would perform better sealed. Icon would be seeing 900rms or the Gcon at 600 rms. I "could" be very conservative with gains/ and try to hold my amp back a tad for the Gcon D2. How would it perform in that application vs a single 12d4 getting 600 rms?
October 29, 201410 yr Author The Q is a nice driver but the 7" mounting depth may be pushing it. I can either go under the armrest or in a wedge/truck box and that's really pushing it in those locations......I am open to other suggestions though.

The Gcon can take the 900 if you are good with the gains. If it makes any difference, the Gcon is now stocking, so no wait time.
November 5, 201410 yr I ran a single GCON on over 1000 for more than a year with no problems. Beat on it every day and it still works great.
