Posted March 6, 200718 yr I have seen some very good ones lately, but I have to recommend The Prestige. Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan are an unbelievable team. I have read the book and Bale plays a very good Alfred Borden. The film is shot very well and the plot is very circular, which I love. I saw it twice in theaters and downloaded the dvd a few weeks ago; just got a chance to watch it again last night. What are some movies you have seen recently that everyone else must see? Edited March 6, 200718 yr by DevilDriver
March 6, 200718 yr Admin I would like to see that. If you are refering to recent movies, then I feel Superman is a must see. Memoirs of a Geshia is very good, give it a chance it is a different experience. Lucky Number Sleven was good with a great cast. And of course (although not recent)
March 6, 200718 yr Author Doesn't have to be recent at all. I finally watched Crash the other day and was very impressed. I was a little disappointed in Superman (it's really the only comic based series of movies that I don't like...well, maybe DareDevil ) but pleasantly surprised by Lucky Number Slevin.
March 6, 200718 yr Admin We should try to compile a must-see before you die list. I was working on a must read list, but quiet time at home for reading ended once Arthur was born.
March 6, 200718 yr Action:ScarfaceGone in 60 secondsHorror:Scilence of the LambsSaw seriesComedy:Pretty much all Adam Sandler, Will Ferrel, and Ben Stiller movies ever....
March 6, 200718 yr I will absolutely NEVER watch Ben Stiller or Will Ferrel movies. They are piss-poor comics and B-list actors in my mind. I don't know how they ever got famous. A lot of poor excuses have come from SNL as of late. They can never live up to the Akroyd, Rock, Murphy, Martin, Belushi, etc. . . of SNL lore.As for my favorites, Bullitt, Star Wars originals, Underworld collection, and Blade Series. Of course Scarface, Godfather series, Goodfellas, need no mention. Not too much a fan of any horror film. They are all too predictable and similar in plot. I have yet to see one that will make me cringe instead of laugh. And let's not forget, PULP FICTION!
March 7, 200718 yr Okay Ite watch will ferrell's new one........the serious one..........where he has his life narrated............Its really freakin good!!!! Not a farrell style role but he does it amazingly..........While you have taken most of my favs I will add a few more that are favs of mine. The whole series surrounding CLERKS, TOP GUN, American History X, and RENT.Add more later.J
March 7, 200718 yr Author The black daliah was good.I love any movie based on that time period, but found the plot slow and some of the more interesting things related to the Black Dahlia murder was left out.Stranger Than Fiction (that's the Will Ferrell one being referred to) was very, very good.
March 7, 200718 yr <---Patiently awaits The 300 The name has left me, but that movie with Orlando Bloom where the prince is a lepor and wears metal masks to cover it...that is a pretty good movie IMO.
March 8, 200718 yr <---Patiently awaits The 300Same here. Really liked Gladiator, so I'm hoping this will be as endearing.
March 8, 200718 yr <---Patiently awaits The 300Same here. Really liked Gladiator, so I'm hoping this will be as endearing.I liked Troy, well any movie about Greek and Roman Mythology or that era of empires and wars. It is part of the reason I took Latin instead of spanish or french.I'm going to be in J-Ville weekend after this comming. They have a pretty good iMax...I hope they are playing it.
