thanks to everyone that has helped me so far, i am finally building the box for the tahoe and i had to change plans just a touch.

it was gonna be 48 wide, 21 tall and 36 deep with a port all the way across the bottom

so port was 5 tall 46.5 wide and 22 deep

i changed the box size to be 48 wide, 35 deep and 23 tall

this is for two 18" fully loaded BL's with 1600rms each

how big should i make the port to be tuned to 30-32 range

well lets just say subs take up one, and give a little for bracing,,then the rest would be what ever size the port takes up.

Hey bud, so you are still making the port area 46.5x5, right? After port, subs, and bracing you'll have about 8cubes per sub. You're gaining 1cubic foot this way roughly, so just make it a little shorter. I'd use that port calculator from the other post, I think it should work for you. The laptop battery is about to die, let me calculate that for you in just a bit.

yes thanks that is what i am doing, just didnt know if i need to change the 5 high or the 22 deep to be in that range,,,thanks for you help.

im building it now and at that point...lol

The 22 deep will change a bit, but not a lot. Maybe 19-20 to keep 32hz, but as long as you're flexible and say between 30-32hz, then the original 22 inches will still keep you between 30-32hz.

Cant wait to see some pics.

ok i will still go with the 22 then, right now the bottom, back and both sides are done, and with 45's in the corners. i did take pics and late tonight i should get to work on it a little more. thanks for your help
