I am gettin a 18 inch btl soon gonna get 2 in the mean time im gonna be pumping 4000 watts rms at it with the memphis 4kw could it handle that on a daily basses

That's your call man, i can put 8000-10000 watts to a sub and never blow it. Others can put 1000 watts to the same sub and melt the coil.

It's all based on experience, install, etc etc.

Thus is why we say, 2000 watts RMS, what you do to it is your decision.

ok last question would i be able to fit two 18 btls in a chevy caprice it has a big trunk but i dont think that big

Just because he works with Fi, he does not know every car. Think of a box you would want, and measure the dimensions. Only you can do that, but IMO if you wanted to make a good box, it will not be big enough.

two 18s in any trunk is going to be a task, i'd either do 1 18 or 2 15s

IMO i would do 2 15"s if it has to be in a trunk...

Check out the topic "BTL power recommendations". I thought it would help answer your exact question, and others like it...

Measure your trunk and put up the dimensions, maybe someone will help you.

also goto ca.com and pm Undercoverpunk or nG(his friend i think) on here, i think undercoverpunk was running to 18's or they may just be 15's in a caprice to see how they manged to fit a box that big in the trunk.

In a small sealed box he might be able to do so, but your subs would have to face upward....

if not clipped too hard and the box is good, I'm pretty sure it'd take the memphis amp full tilt... I am not affiliated in any way with FI for the record, so if you do manage to break it, be sure not to blame them... me personally, I'd do it

I'm not to sure if you want to put 4kw to it for a DD application. Even though I beleive they put 10kw to one in the test session and it took it fine.

There are quite a few people here running 4kw watts to their btl's daily, but as scott, nick and sean will tell you, its all in the enclosure, i would not put 4kw to a sub in a box that is on the small side. Personally I think you should just do one 18 in the trunk first and utilize all of the space, make the box on the bigger side of Fi's recommendations.

yea i was thinkin bout gettin just one 18 i have 20 cuft in the trunk so i could make the box bigga than specs
