Ok guys...I'm getting really close to making some things happen and I wanted to know if 6 SSD 18's sealed in the Cargo area of my Tahoe would rock.......I thinking 2 cubes each? I probably need Nick or Shawn on this one. Each sub is gonna get 1200-1500 watts rms if that helps. I'm also gonna have 3 alts and 5 batts so electrical should be ok....Let me know what you think......GO FI AUDIO GO!!

well my 8 15" ssd's are in 2 cubes per sealed and it gets down, but thats a normal wall at the pillar

Is this for daily or competition? With that much power (1500 each) you might be better off with BLs, I think for the longevity of the subs they'll like the power better. If its for burps that's one thing, but daily I'd go for the BL.

Since there's no info on sealed 18 boxes, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since a sealed 12 is recommended to have up to 1.6ft^3 that 2ft won't be a lot of space You could fit close to 20 feet in there, giving each one a little over 3 ft, which seems more ideal to me. That's my oppinion, it is a little tough since there's very limited info on the sealed 18s. Good luck.

2 cubes does not sound like it is enough space for an 18 at all, maybe go with 4 18's and give them more air space.

Going with more airspace defeats the purpose and I'll just do 2 or 3 BTL's ported. I wanted to do something crazy....Now I'm thinking about 8 sealed in the cargo area.....Thanks for the info guys...

You will be restricting the 18's potential with a box that small. What do you use your Tahoe for? You would also upset all the handling characteristics of the vehice by stuffing all that weight behind the rear axle. Is using the area where the rear seats are out of the question?

Even though you're going to be running less than required air space,I think 6 18"s will amaze as long as the enclosure is built like a tank. I say go for it,seems like it will impress. I would love to hear it! But I'm biased for 18s.

Sealed, I would do the "Q" instead of the SSD's.... that is a wee bit too much power for an SSD but a Q would kill it.

The BL won't sound "optimal" in a sealed box (since it's TS for it's QTS parameter is below the magic .4 number)...

more airspace and less woofers was proposed. i don't see how that would defeat the purpose.

if 6 sealed wouldn't have enough airspace, how could 8 have enough ?
