putting a setup together and was wondering which would be a better LSQ this will be going in the back of a 2005 Ford Expedition with third row so i will be working with only about 3-3.5 cubes off about 2600watts or so. Also whats a good tuning for this sized box to kill the lows in rap music.

Any input or suggestions will be helpful. thanks ahead of time

Could you fit a 15" btl and just give it a bit more space like 4.5 feet? That would be my choice, but the 3 10s will have a lot more cone area. About 120cm^2 more with the 3 10s over one 15 btl.

If its definitely got to fit in that space I'd go for 3 ssd 10s because of cone area.

I'd tune either one around 32-35hz.

which would be a better LSQ

The two choices you listed are pretty far apart. Granted, with the "right" install you can make the SSD's fart like any other woofer, but I'm not sure I'd bother with them in that case.

If you really meant loud SQ and weren't just caught by the word filter, I'd say the SSD's no question, but if you tried to type S-Q-L I'd say it wouldn't matter, go with either.

If you're going for SQ, and have 2600 on tap and can at least squeeze out 4 cubes

Why not get a pair of 12" Q's

SSD's :)

Yea i meant LSQ, i tried to go back and edit the post but it didnt work, but you guys got the drift of what i was saying.

The space is very limited because the customer wants to keep his 3rd row in his Expo, the sub(s) and port will be up firing, but definately the 15 BTL wont work due to space. the bottom part of the box will be 15.5 inches and it tapers towards the top of the box due to the 3rd seat.

So i guess the ssd's will have to go in this application due to cone area. His buddy has a navigator with the 3rd seat which has (2) 12's and he wants to out pound him. The customer was considering the W7 but i figured i save him some loot and run some FI

edit: obviously it wount let me type SQ-L

are the SSDs better and louder than the Qs? becuase im thinking 2 Qs would be better. noob opinion.

Going by the OP the SSDs would be my personal choice. The Qs would be a great choice (2 Q12s were mentioned) but there isnt enough space (per the original post at 3-3.5 cuft) With 2600W, (3)Q10s would be nice, but they wont perform any better than the SSDs. Now if it was 3-4kW Id say (3)Q10s in that space. Otherwise save the $$$ with the SSDs.

Thanks,

Scott
