Nice!! That is pretty badass for just the one amp. Kinda weird it peaks higher despite the same tune. I guess the bigger enclosure changed your cabin area too. I dont pretend I know much about acoustics and would like to know more. Looking forward to the trim panel pics. Still going with the vinyl?
  2. Very nice! What dubstep song was that in the single btl?

You know kinda along the same lines of the ssf got me thinking. Not that I doubt your building skills at all but always worth a look just in case. You could try playing tones at low level just above where your tune frequency is. Then start dropping frequency to see where excursion is the lowest. That way you can confirm the port tune is correct.

Wow that sucks. Amp getting warm too? Real quick check you could disconnect at the amp and check dcr with a meter to see where you are.

Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished pics and vids! Also just thinking every which way but loose was probably before most people on here were even born lol.

It's easy for me to say to take your time and do it all now. But I get anxious too. Are you even sure you are picking up the 2nd amp? If you are how soon? I would go ahead and run all the cable if you know where it is going. That way when you get the amp you can just drop it in. Didn't you want to deaden some stuff too?
  7. After waiting a little over a month I was excited when the shipping guy called and said my sub showed up. Then he said it felt funny so he opened it before the FedEx guy left. He said it looks like its ok but I'll take pics of how it came. Here are those pics. I was very disappointed when I saw it. It's like someone through it in a box and hoped for the best. I bought some closeout mids from parts Express that were $30 that was packaged much better. I understand that shipping companies can be rough, especially with heavy boxes but still. I'm lucky that there isn't any apparent damage other than a little chip on the magnet. I'lbbl know more in a couple days when I get it installed. I would have gladly paid extra money due to the time and weight of better packaging. I just wanted to show how I received it incase there is an issue. Let me know if you need an order number or anything.

    Sundown E-10/12/15 OCTOBER SALE

Don't get too caught up in port per cube. Use the correct port area for the woofer and tuning. Let me know what you are going and how many, and what tuning frequency and I'll figure it for you. Or if you want to do it yourself the xmax is 12mm

How about a 5th? Are you not doing a c pillar wall at all?
  10. October sale. SSA store has them for the same price.

I like carbon fiber but not the goofy checkerboard stuff most places seem to sell. That being said I like the padded vinyl you did. It's cheap, nice looking and a lot more forgiving.

Looks awesome! Either that's some small allthread or freakin huge dowel rods.

    whay am i not louder?

Since he hasn't posted a pic yet here is a progress pic on another thread. I made a few suggestions on bracing but not sure if he did any. Also, he mentioned the port walls were too tall and had to sand it down. That being said, I would check construction integrity. Your dimensions look ok. Also I agree with checking the sub wiring.

    Help with batteries

You really need to upgrade the grounds as well. I'm a big fan of the Diehard Platinum. For a little cheaper I'd go for a Deka Intimdator/rebadge.

LMAO!! It's too bad we didn't get to hang out with you guys. But we had to get home so wasn't able to stay for the cookout or come today. They were doing construction in southern Indiana so that added an extra hour to our trip. Overall we had a great time and have some pics and vids to post later. I'm guessing you were only there for Sat? I don't remember names too well lol Yep we were there 1030-830 saturday only.

Please post enclosure dimensions and pics of the final assembly. I just posted on your progress thread earlier. Oh, and you aren't going to be able to notice 300 watts.

what else does my box need?

Looks like you compensated for the full width of the front baffle instead of making the side full depth. Little weird to leave it like that but I suppose it won't hurt anything. Double baffle or not I would use a dowel rod from the front baffle between the 2 subs to the back wall. Then another dowel in the center next to that dowel from the top to bottom. There is no such thing over bracing. Well, I guess if you get so carried away you displace a lot of volume doing so. I can't tell the width of your port, but you may need put a short dowel between the side and port wall to keep that panel from flexing. Especially since you aren't using a 45 on that corner. If you plan on building many enclosures I'd recommend picking up a router, a couple bits and a circle jig. After you learn how to use them it makes it easier and better results. Hope you aren't going to try and sand the port by hand.

Congrats Steve! Was nice to meet you and Flavious. You guys are cool in my book. I felt bad that you were having so many problems but pretty awesome that you did so well despite all that.

Yes you can just Y the remote. I don't use relays unless I'm hooking up so many things it will create a large current draw. Often a relay will pull more current than a couple devices will. The way I do mine is run a single remote wire to the first amp. Then add a wire from the first amp remote to the second amp. Kinda like a daisy chain. I just think its a little cleaner looking but whatever works.
  21. I used to repair a bunch of these with no sound problems. 9 out of 10 times the "power ic" was set to off in the menu. It is used to turn off the internal amp so it would decrease noise in the processing if you are using RCA output only. Atleast that is what they told me when I was in alpine school haha. Very few output ic's actually blow unless you just get completely stupid with it. They were really well designed.

    Enclosure for AA Mayhem 12"

I wouldnt say way off. It just doesn't account for displacement. you can try Torres calculator or Stephen's bloody calculator posted on here a few days ago.

How does this box sketch look for 18" BL?

Why not dowel rod? It's cheap and effective. Plus its super easy to install.
