Hello everyone, I am working on overhauling my current 2007 Civic coupe install to a comp worthy trunk class build. The brains of the system is a Sony CDX-C90/ XDP-210EQ combo. A McIntosh powered (MC425 and MC427) Exodus/ Vifa front stage is in the stock locations. The current sub-stage is JBL GT4-12's powered by a Kicker ZX1000.1. The electrical is stock except for a single run of 1/0 KnuKoncepts cable. The overhaul will still include a McIntosh powered front stage, but the subs and subs powerplant will get yanked out in favor of 15's(or maybe triple 12's) and a 3-5kW amp. I am shooting for 150's. Hay guys i got two questions about my setup. 2011 f150 with factory charging system with extra 1000 cca marine batterie "not a audio battery". I'm running 2 sae1500d amp on 4 sa15 subs. They are the rev3's and are 2ohm coil's. I am running the amps seperat gain matched "to the best of my ability" and I'm at . 5 ohms at each amp not counting rise. I have the rear seat out and built a good sturdy enclosure that's sealed good with a port that's tuned to 35 hertz. I just ordered 2 12" D1 XCons to go in the trunk of my Pontiac G6. It feels like Christmas is coming 2 months early!! Yeehaaa!! I cant seem to make up my mind on the subs I am looking at. the two that have my attention are the ssa zcon 18" and the sundown z v3 18". I am waiting on my crescendo bc2000D's. leaning more towards the zcon. Amp and sub are both 2250 rms @1 ohm. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just threw two x18 v.2s in my Yukon in a 15 cu ft box on an SCV4000. Very impressive, but I developed coil rub after just a month. It's really strange because there is no felt rub when you press down on the cone.. Actually, it only rubs when the coil is cold. After I pump one second of true RMS to it, there is magically no rub.. The other sub is fine. I monitor the clipping light religiously and the only time I see a red flash is on the attack peak of bass notes. From what I have researched, a slightly flashing clipping light is pretty normal and a fast flashing light is slightly overpowered. Looking for suggestions on what subs to run . I've used kicker, fosgate , jl and alpine in the past but it has been a long time since I've had anything better than factory .
