Hey everyone. Arthur from Indianapolis here. I am a professional drummer and work as a hired gun for various tours around the world. My most recent tour was a stint with The Blue Man Group and have also played with The Fortunes from Coventry England and others. I got out of car audio for about 15 years and now have dove in again and you guys are spending all of my cash!!!! I have a big Arc audio system but now am in the process of doing the Sundown/ Fi/ Focal/Kinetic/ Alpine system. Amazing what I have learned and relearned on these forums! Thanks, Arthur

Hey guys this is my first post here, love the website. Anyways, i just purchased a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic reg. cab a few months back and the stock radio is driving me crazy! What im trying to achieve is a SQ oriented system, not necessarily competition quality but enjoyable SQ for all types of music from bass heavy rap to country to classic rock and everything else in between. I would like it to sound good at both low and high volumes and when needed/wanted a lil thump. Im trying to keep the install as stock looking as possible. So here’s what ive sketched up. Please give input on what you guys think, Thanks in advance. Head Unit - Alpine INA-W900 Speakers - Hybrid Audi…

I am looking at both of these units' specs. The J.L. lists 75 watts per channel at 11.4 volts, the Sundown seems to list 100 watts per channel at 14.4 volts. When I say seems to; it lists testing voltage at 14.4.I would like to know if the 100.4d was tested at 14.4 volts, and if so what would be the rated wattage at 11.4 volts. Apples to apples. Also the signal to noise ratio is much different for these two units. If anyone can tell me at what output these tests were run for each unit.I understand the there is a good chance only the manufacturers know these answers, and they may not want to tell. I also would like to know where Sundown Audio manufactures their products…

Have a 2000 Nissan Altima. And 6 SA-10's ported in the trunk. On two BC 2k's. I look forward to talking with a whole new crowd!

Hey, I'm new to the world of subs/amps and all this. I am buying a new truck soon, don't have a good sound system, I'm wondering what would be good for someone like me I LOVE bass, absolutely love it. What combination of subs/amps would suffice? And can anyone make a guide on how to set it all up once I get the subs/amp? If you need me to be more descriptive about what I like, I can be. something around 2000 watts(both subs together) would be great. (remember I know nothing about subs except that they produce lovely bass)

  9. First off i just to start by saying hello to everyone here at the ssa community. My name is Tommy and i have been studying these forums for some time now. I have a minor question upon my entering the community, i did not want to place this in the wrong place considering this is my first post. Well here goes *shoot* Looking for the best 12 inch subwoofer + box for under 200$. Will run off of a 1000 watt Sony Xplod XM1652z ( It's all ive got for right now and i plan to replace it real soon, i know of all the bad terrible things but it was given to me for free). I listen to a lot of dub step/techno. The Pioneer TS-W302R 12 and sealed box i bought of my buddy for kicks and gi…

Hello everyone, I am working on overhauling my current 2007 Civic coupe install to a comp worthy trunk class build. The brains of the system is a Sony CDX-C90/ XDP-210EQ combo. A McIntosh powered (MC425 and MC427) Exodus/ Vifa front stage is in the stock locations. The current sub-stage is JBL GT4-12's powered by a Kicker ZX1000.1. The electrical is stock except for a single run of 1/0 KnuKoncepts cable. The overhaul will still include a McIntosh powered front stage, but the subs and subs powerplant will get yanked out in favor of 15's(or maybe triple 12's) and a 3-5kW amp. I am shooting for 150's. Electrical is first on the list...

  13. Question about the use of amps crossovers and sound processors. Is it best to go all active not at all or combine?? Are amp filters as good as sound processors? When you buy a component speaker system you are paying for a crossover too. More expensive units have better crossovers. It’s been suggested that these crossovers use up power so not using them and using HPF and LPF on your amps is the better way to go. An alternative method is using a digital active crossover that can be programmed. Different methods are also to influence phase shifts that can create cancellation or have better frequency curves. The cons would be a dedicated amp just for tweete…

Ok so i have an acura rsx and i'm looking to have a ported box that's about 1.2 cubic feet or less to go in the trunk with the sub facing up and the port firing at the hatch/trunk. From what i hear, the SA-12 can be put in a smaller box than the Q; however, would it get as low? or have the same Sound Quality (although i know sq isn't really what subs, especially poerted ones, are for) The Sa-12 is cheaper (about $45-55 less) than the Q, and this money could go towards sound deadening or other things also. Help me choose Please! haha If more information needs to be given lemme know

Whats going on everyone? Anyone bassheads out there close to Southern MD?? Anyways, I found SSA when I first purchased a Sundown Zv3 15" and some damplifier a while ago and have been glued to this forum ever since so I figured why not join the best forum out there. Just ordered 2 SA-12s and going to seal them off from the trunk tuned to 28hz for some lowwwwwws. I will put a build log up when I get my box from davetheboxguy (can't build my own because I am stuck in an apartment and have no where to build or the space ever since I moved). But for now I just wanted to say what up and keep bumpin!
