  2. The purpose of this thread is to discuss the design flaw of the 250XP alternator case. This thread is NOT to BASH on DC Power so DO NOT use it to do so. I am here to discuss ONLY fact's, and help improve on design quailty. The mounting ear has broke twice on my 250XP alternator, in under a year. This is installed on a 2.3L 4 cyl equipped 99' honda Accord. The case is weak due to not enough material left around the mounting ears and the bracket allowing too much movement. From what I understand DC Power will be redesigning the case and leaving more material. I will post pics of the new one if Rob does not. If this happens again I would hope for a bracket redesign also.…

Hello I have a 2007 Mazda 3. It is a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter engine. I will be running an saz-2500d and another speaker amp so probably 2800 watts total just in car audio. I just want an alt that can support that without spending too much money. Hopefully best bang for my buck under 400$?

Hey everyone i am new to car audio and am planning on doing something big. Well first I was planning on getting a 250 amp alt with 2 yellow top batteries supplying power to 2 audio q 2200 amps connected to 2 12 fi btls . My question is that is there anything i need to be worried about? Because i was wondering if different parts of my car for example the dash lights or head light are being supplied with excess power? Is there some sort of regulater that controls the flow of current to the different appliances and delivers what is needed? THANKS! your help is highly appreciated

  10. How much of a difference and what kind of benefits will I get by running a 15.1 voltage regulator on a 270xp? I just got my 270xp last Friday and it was suppose to have this upgrade regulator in it but after I installed the alt I notice that my voltage is only at 14.3. So I think they forgot to upgrade to the 15.1 regulator.

Rob told me a while back that i need to pay little extra to have a true 18v regulator installed on my alt. How much is it for starters and is it still internal i hope? 2nd, for safety sake, i'll have 6 25a stepdowns in the car to run it on 12v still.. But, if i purchase the VCM, can i still safely step the regulator down to ~15v if i ever had to bypass the stepdowns?

What brand of belt do you guys recommend using with the 270 xp? I put on a new gates belt and i have slipping on a cold start (less than a second). When the engine is warm it doesn't slip. I have tightened the belt up a few times...seems to help a first but is this because the belt is new and still stretching?

Watching "Inside west coast customs" earlier and they installed a DC power alternator on the main build they were working on, it was a Baja Chase truck for "OX" of metal mulisha. Not sure if it was mentioned before, but i thought it was cool.

Hey, I recently sent in my alternator to be sold by DC... Seeing how they sell like crazy, anyways I sent my alt I believe two weeks ago before MECA, and Rob said he recidved it, he said it was basicly BNIB. I have not been able to get into contact with Rob Nor Kyle, this is a new experience with DC, typically their customer service is fantastic to say the least. My name is Julian smith and the number will be an (816)830-XXX number calling from Missouri. Whenever you guys can give me an update or a call thatd be great. Thanks a lot guys. (and I don't want people posting on here who aren't Affiliated with DC Unless they Are mods, I don't want some nonsense going on, thank…

I apologize if this has been answered. I did a search and didnt exactly find the answer im looking for. What is the differences here? For my specific vehicle (1997 chev tahoe 5.7) there is the 270 XP and 270 SP, only difference i see is 10 amps at idle difference, with about a $50 difference in price. Can anyone clarify this for me please?
