HDS3-10 Dual 2ohm. I'm not that great at building boxes nor do I have the tools anymore so I'm looking to get a prefab. For the 10" SQ recommends one of this following. 20.0 sq" vent x 23" long - or - 24.0 sq" vent x 22" long Would this be about right for this sub? Width: 18" Depth: 16 1/2" Height: 13 1/2" Gross Airspace: 1.72 Cu.Ft. Net Airspace: 1.50 Cu.Ft. Port Dimensions: 12" x 1 1/2" x 21 1/4" Tuned @ 36Hz Port Volume: .22 Constructed with industrial U.S. grade 3/4" MDF.

Hey everyone, new on this forum but not really new to car audio, I have a question regarding soundqubed's amplifiers. I am stuck between getting a 2200 and the 3500. But I have heard rumors that the 2200 has problems, shares parts with the hifonix brand things like that. The 3500 has its downsides too though such as requiring very stiff voltage, and being that much more of a bummer if I lose it to vibration, moisture, life kinda things. Should I save up for the 3500? Or buy the 2200 and strap them in the future if I want more powe. Thank you for your input

I currently have two HDS3.1 10s.. My baby steps are going to build 4th order wall.. I have chevy sonic 2015 hatchback.. The 6 subs will be inverted inside port wall.. I will be working on the back seat out for measuring spaces.. Depends on my taste build.. It probably will be done by a yr or two.. Anybody can dream it even low on budget.. First is get a mids and high front stage.. Of course it's going all soundqubed products.. The amp will be 4500 rms.. And three batteries in back.. I will upload into photobucks.

To make a long story short, the current HDC 12s that soundqubed is making have the hds300 basket. I bought one new and it did not come with the pictured basket on the website. Not all the way sure how I feel about it yet.

  6. Hey everyone, this thread is me clearing up a few questions I have about HDC3's and HDC4's. These are the two subs in question. (so it's easy to reference ) HDC3: http://www.soundqubed.com/HDC3118-Copper-Coil-Subwoofer_p_25.html HDC4: http://www.soundqubed.com/HDC418-D1-A-_p_137.html We are talking about 18" only Whats the story behind the high Fs of the HDC'4? Was this a non broken in woofer or something? The suspension is that stiff? (equivalent HDC3 is 9hrz lower IIRC) Between the HDC3's copper coil & the HDC4's aluminum …

  7. Here is my input on what I have found to be optimum in sound and overall performance (SPL) for both the HDC3 and HDC4. Now there are several versions of both of these subs and I have tested countless hours with both. This is my recommendation, it isn't intended to be the end all BEST but will get you really damn close All recommendations are with alum coil D1 subs. Single sub setup, simply multiply for multi sub setups, works great in my testing. HDC3 old version (Old Style basket) Stiff suspension 1k input power HDC310 - 2.0 cube net with 18 sq inch port area per cube - tune between 36-41 hz HDC312 - 3.0 cube net with 18 sq inch port area per cube - tune betwe…

I am in process of rebuilding my S10 for MECA's Street 2 SPL class. I am just torn between the HDC3 or 4 15. I will be running 2 2200's strapped for power. I can usual pull about 320 amps of current in the class so I think 2 2200's strapped at 2 ohms nominal would be an optimum choice. So on that note, opinions of which sub to use. I have had alot of experience with the HDC3's and found them to handle large amounts of power. I just know for rated power, I will be going way past peak power handling on the HDC3, but I do not want to get an HDC4 and not be able to move it with just 4 k in power. 9. Ok so I made a few boxes for my hdc4 and it sounded good except on a particular note. I believe it was a higher frequency seeing as how I still hit the lows and moved air fine. If you listen to "candy shop by 50 cent. It's that bass note through out the song. My sub makes noises like a knocking noise. I can hear in the port and I can hear it when I listen to the sub. Any ways I thought it was the tuning so I made quite a few boxes but had same results or less noticeable, but still there results. I'd listen to it free air and it sounded fine. I even switched the subs to a different brand and it didn't make that noise. So I was assuming it was the speaker. But th…

Would this be a good choice for a daily driver? I listen to mostly rock music. I know there are better choices but this is in my budget range.

I'm looking at purchasing a couple HDS212D2's, but I'm attempting to plan out the build as much as possible before actually getting started. I see that the recommendations for box size per 12" woofer is around 2 cubes, with a 32"sq port (equating to 2"x16" slot size) at 21" long. This equates to a 40hz tune, which if recommended, so be it. However! Looking at the port velocity at this size, I see that the velocity spikes to over 70 at 38hz, and the driver over-extends before hitting 28-30hz. SQ doesn't recommend a smaller port cross section than 32"sq due to chuffing, but I see that a 16"sq by 27" long slot port will give a 25hz tune and the same air velocity, with t…

Ok, I recently made the jump to buy some new gear to replace my old dual 15" old school Kicker Infuse subs. Mainly due to I needed my trunk back as the box took up the ENTIRE trunk of my 2008 Focus SE. I went ahead trying to budget and got a good deal on a Power Acoustik RZ1-1500D. Its stable at 900RMS at 2ohm which the single sub will be wired up as. Now, I know it states 600 RMS & 1200 watt burst for the HDS woofer. My main concern is, do I run a large risk of blowing the speaker using this amp? The box it will be going in is a single 12" ported enclosure: Belva Sub Box 1SV12G (Gray) with a air volume of 1.8 Cubic Ft. tuned to 36hz. Mainly due to cost, size, an…

I don't have to tools required to build a box. I'm looking around on eBay for a decent box for the HDS310 and the best thing I can really find is this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390824040731&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 I messaged the seller, he said it's tuned @ 36hz. It's stated it's 1.5cf and made with 3/4 MDF. On the "Box Sizes and Tuning" page, it states 1.25cf or 1.5 for the 10. Would this box be fine? I'm not sure on the port length/width.

I cannot find anything about what size enclosure the HDS315 loves to eat up, i was thinking something in the 3-5 cube range? 32-37hz? Help please i feel enclosure recommendations is something SoundQubed should look into putting on the website considering all the love they have been getting from the community and all the people i have seen asking the same question on other forums.

  23. Alright guys so this is my first "big" system. I have 2 soundqubed hdc3 15 d2's in a 10 ish cu ft box tuned to 32 hz. I have 2 soundqubed q1-2200 amps. I plan on strapping them. My mids and highs I got on lock so they're not important. I have a 180 amp ho alt by singer alternators. This is the absolute biggest he could make it. 1 xs d5100r under the hood and 2 xs xp3000's in the back. Nothing is installed yet I'm waiting for all my install accessories. Do you think I have enough batteries and is my alternator sufficient enough to handle 500 amps of max current? I'm waiting on my xs charger to come in to install everything because I need to fully charge my batteries. Also…

So I just finished my recone on my HDC3-15 copper D1 and could not figure out which dust cap to use. So I started looking at what I could use that would make it a little different from everyone else. So hre is how it went: First thought Second thought And the final, which is how I believe Sounqubed should be selling/shipping the subwoofers I took their 8 inch carbon fiber cap and trimmed it down to 6 inches to fit in the original cap area and "I like it alot".
