Just as topic said. I plan to upgrade my alternator. Currently my alternator is rated at 60 amps (I know...) and plan to upgrade maybe twice the size (minimum of 100 amps) for daily. I dont need high power alternator as I am not competing... well maybe 1 or 2 comps doesnt hurt. My question is, is there a risk of upgrading to a bigger alternator??? Do i just swap it, make a bracket for the new alternator? Or do I really need to install 2nd battery for that. Reason being is that I was told by the shop that if you upgrade to a big alternator.. it will fried all your electrical components in your car as its capable to put out more current than the stock alternator. This is going to be my 10th box in my nissan frontier so far...havn't found exactly what I'm looking for, hopefully this'll be it. Okay I've been on these forums and have been looking at a lot of box designers and box designs. I was just curious to find out how much everybody paid for their enclosures/ sub boxes? This is not for the experts who can make their own boxes though your expert quotes are welcomed. This is for those who don't know and are learning how to make enclosures and had to pay lol. Also state if materials were included or not. If possible give the length of time it took. Pics would also be a plus.

Well I am getting my first vehicle soon, and am building my first sound system in it. People who know me know when I do things, I go big and get the best available to me at the time. So I just bought a Team Cactus Sounds 7KW Amplifier. Now what should I hook it up to? Assume that I am doing the build in the bed of a pick up truck with either a 6.5 or 8 foot bed. What I am really wondering is should I go with many small(10-12") subs, a couple large(18") subs, or a single large(18"), a single medium(15"), and a couple small(10-12") subs? Hey if i order this dual alt kit and one of their H/O alts from DC power, could i run it along with my stock alternator to the same batterys? or would the higher charging voltage mess it up or do anything like that?

So im in the process of a new build. Ive had a Skar VVX15 and DC Lvl4 18. Def loved the DC more. ( just sold that ) but its so expensive for me to get multiples. For this new build i want to do either 15s or 18s for sake of its cheaper to get louder (meaning price of 1 18s is cheaper than 2 12s of equivalent specs) So my question is what kinda ideas you guys got! At least doing 2 subs. maybe 4 if i can afford. Not sure on Power ( currently have a SAZ1500v1 but wanna upgrade to 3-4k) I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee...willing to cpillar wall......GO! any questions just ask! thanks guys

I've decided my next setup would either consist of a single icon 15 or two SA12s, my goal is SQ first but i do want it to be somewhat loud. both setups would be ran off a sundown sax 1200d amp. The setup would go in a 95 BMW 740 the alternator is 140amps the stock battery is rather large. I'm trying to stay in the 1200 watt range. thanks in advance. will post more info about the setup if needed

Just sold my Dual 2ohm BTL N2 to my buddy. It was working for a few songs then randomly cut off for a few seconds and then would turn back on for a bit, and this would happen over and over. Didnt really have enough time to diagnose anything last night but I was going to try to find out what was happening today. He has a Kicker ZX1000.1so I wired the sub in series. Weirdest thing is that he said it wasnt happening with his other subs. I was going to check the regular stuff like voltage at the amp and make sure I actually did wire the sub properly but Im not sure why it would be doing this in the first place. He told me the amp stays on so Im lost.

blast it all. i saw my voltage was at 11.3v with the car off and that wasnt normal. when i went to start the car, it dipped to like 7 and im like whoa crap. for some reason the car started and it was even lower at 10.3 sometimes dipping to 9.8. i was all freaked out and my dad looked it over and come to the conclusion my alt wasnt charging. hmmm maybe this is a sign i should use my 250a i have lyin around in my closet lol

So, i was driving down the road today with the subs playing, not quite at full tilt but pretty loud and all of a sudden a rattle starting coming from the box, and a lack of volume did as well. This is a bandpass so the front of the subs are not visible, but you can see the rear of the subs by looking through the aeroports. The rattle seems to come from the bottom of one of the port walls i can visibly see vibrating. This is not the first time the port has come loose but this is the first time there has been a lack of volume. These are two alpine type r 12"s off of an old school lightening audio 1000d. i want to design a box for my 10in ssds. i kinda wanted to go ported so they require at least .9 of airspace after displacments. the space i have to work with is 53in long 15in tall bottom depth around 11in top around 4in. its going in a standard cab s10 so if anyone has better ideas that would be cool i just kinda wanted to go ported this time instead of sealed but if i cant it aint no problem

So, this is about the only event that I know of even remotely close enough for me to drive to. I will be there (hopefully my Bronco will be done) along with my brother and possibly more people we know around here (Seminole). Hoping this will be a good time and we will be able to demo. I just got a 09 crew cab 1500 chevy silverado. I currently have quite a bit of equipment from my old builds, but none will really fit in the truck. It's all 6.5" speakers in the doors and tweets up front in the a-pillar. I'll probably be selling some of my stuff to pick up speakers that will fit. I have had nothing but good come from focal, so I was thinking of staying with them. I was thinking of going either with the Access or Polyglass lines. The K2's get a bit expensive and Utopia is out of the question. Also, what is your advice on running them from the HU (Alpine IVA-W200). Hello, I have a 2014 Accord EX-L sedan that comes stock with nav and touch screen and the stock audio system is JUNK! It comes with four 6.5 inch speakers that sound super flat and a 8inch sub that isn’t enough for me. I plan on replacing all speakers but I want to know if I can upgrade my system without changing my stock head unit. If it helps at all I have the 4 channel alpine MRV-F300 amp for speakers and the Sundown SAZ-1500d for my subs. If I can’t upgrade without changing my headunit what would be my best option for better sound?

Ok i was looking at the book and it is saying for a 1 or 4 ohm load hook the - neg. of the sub to the + pos. of the amp and + pos. of the sub to the - neg. of the amp????? is that right

Ok, so far ive gotten a answer from excessive amperage for my saturn alt. The largest bolt on they can make me will be 200 amps. Will this 200 amp alt be enough for me daily pounding my KX2500.1? I installed 90% of my system with the two batts in the back and i have a few questions. 1. my subs are dual 1 ohm can i wire each to .5 ohm from each terminal on the enclosure to have a end result of 1 ohm at the amp? 2. when grounding the two batts in the back and i ground them to and metal part or the car. (i have to ground them to each side of the trunk) 3. can i ground both batts on the same plane? 4. i put the two main fuses in just to see of the amp will turn on...no luck. does everything has to be grounded and connected before the amp turn on? 5. i attached the remote wire to the blue wire with the white line that's coming from the harness..is that good enough? 6.…
