I waited over the weekend to see if the Icons went on the "Outrageous Deal" but they didn't haha but since they're still at a very good price I am going to buy two of them and wanted to make sure that I will get a 1 ohm load on my amp with 2 subs if I buy two D1 subs. Is this correct?

when someone who thinks he knows a lot about car audio (and he doesnt) and has a lot of money braggs 24/7 about what he has? this one guy in my area has MTX throughout his car. i think he has 2 12 8500 subs and a 1000 watt amp. anyways, he always says MTX is the shiznit and that nothing even comes close. he also told me that MTX RULES the competition. i brought up RE and FI and he was like nope, MTX would KILL them all. lmao. this has prob been posted before with different people, but imo, it all depends on the install, and more so, the persons taste in music and what he thinks sounds good. im not saying mtx sucks, but im sure it is not THE ABSOLUTE BEST. everyone has th…

I was at a car audio shop a while back and they had this stuff they called, "Dum-Dum" I think. It came on a roll like tape, but was thick and kind of like putty but sticky as well. Anyone heard of this? \Where can I get some?

Okay so I am building a budget system.... I have chosen to purchase one SA 12 sub. I need some advice on... 1. Purchasing a 2ohm or 4ohm sub? 2. What size box should I have my shop build for me? (I am looking for good quality sound that is pretty loud for a daily driver, Listen to mostly hip hop) 3. Will a Arc FD600.1 amp be enough to power this sub adequately? Thanks a lot for your help!

Over the past 18 years I have had countless audio systems. Most of them consisted of two 12" or two 15" and 500-1500w. There is one particular system that a neighbor had that I will never forget. He had a simple system, two Orion XTR 12" with a small cheap Kenwood 500w amp. His car was a three door, possibly it was a Gulf idk. Why I remember this system is because when the bass hits and when I/he was talking it sounded like we were talking through a fan. I have never been able to duplicate this effect. No matter how many subs or watts I had. Actually, I havent even sat in too many other cars that could either. What causes your voice to sound like you are talking through…

New guy here. Looking for help on a potential audio setup for my 2010 Dodge Charger. I'm looking to get 2 12" subs, amp, and enclosure first. ( <<<looking to spend about $800. is that feasible?) Then looking to get an aftermarket head unit down the line. I honestly have no idea about car audio so I need some suggestions. I want something that sounds good but hits hard. I mostly listen to hip/hop n rap so I like bass but not to the point that's all I hear. Any suggestions or opinions would be great. I know you guys probably get these questions all the time (sorry) but I figured I'd ask people who know something about car audio.

Ok so i have a 10" JL w3v3 4ohm driver and a cheapo pioneer amp( i know i know moneys tight) So i hooked this all in my 05 ranger with a Kenwood Excelon deck. I have 2ga welding wire for ALL hot and cold connections. I did the big 3 except for the engine ground for Now. I tossed my cap out as it didnt help and read alot of bad ju ju about them. I get dimming light as do most on Hard bass hits whenthe amp is at +6db's and the deck is at 5 to 15db's. I want to know if i should invest in a second battery (xs power or kinetick) or swap the stock battery out for a better one?? Otherwise i thought about just getting a H/O alternator.? I dont wanna spend a fortune i want to sti…

I would like to know if anyone has any tips on how to adjust/tune my head unit and amp so i can get the best preformance and sound quality without messing anything up... My head unit is a pioneer DEH P3100UB and my amp for my front stage components is a cadence xenith. A thiong on the head unit i kinda dont understand is when i am on EQ 2 if i remember correctly on the option for highs i can adjust from 1k, 8k, 10k, or 12k and another option i can choose is 1w, 2w, 1n, or 2n. I dont really know what that stuff means or is and under the mids it gives me the option of 200hz, 500hz. Cant remember what else from the top of my head, sorry. But it also gives me the option 1w, 2…

LOL, ok so a customer walks into my store today and wants to get a box built. Well the builder is out for the week. But just out of interest i wanted to know what he had and he says Konaki. Never heard of it let me go look. So i'm expecting like walmart quality stuff. He says he got it in houston, which is where most of the people from around here go to pick up "cheap" car stereo stuff. So i look in and there are 2 12s in boxes. so i try to pick up a box and i was barely able to pick it up. Crazy heavy and dual 1 ohm. Speaker says 2400w Max and 1200Wrms. http://konaki.com/12.html managed to find a website. the model # was KO12-1207A Just thought it intersting an…

i've got a nine.1 for my 12's, and an orion 8004 im going to power an alumapro alc 6.2 component set with. im planning on running the mids off 2 channels and the tweets off the other 2. im thinking of buying these rca's http://cgi.ebay.com/Stinger-4-Channe...QQcmdZViewItem but i didnt know if it was cool to use a 4 channel set like that with 2 of them running the components (split with a stinger helix y cord on each one, so the mids and tweets will both be playing the front channel) and the other 2 used for the bass on the nine.1. they should be fully shielded so this is cool right? also how do i want to wire the amp up? i just bridge 2 of the channels with the 4 ohm mids…

I'm kinda new to car audio. Right now I'm just running a sundown e8v3 on a boss armor 1500 which actually puts out the ammount I need. Anyway I really want to upgrade and be loud. I'm not about spl and hitting high dbs more about music and perceived loudness. I can work with about 3.5 cubic foot box. I'm considering either a fi q 18 or a fi bl 15. I just need advise on which would be better.

Hey I’m thinking bout buying 300’ of sky high 14 gauge speaker wire. Will it be good enough to use as wiring for my speakers. Up to 300 watts would be going through it. I just rather get a bunch of wires so I don’t need to keep buying if I ever run out from batches. I’ve had 12 gauge but for some speakers with push terminals it’s too big. The 14 fits fine so I’m thinking it’ll be fine. Could I get some feed back

I have a ported box built for a Rockford T2 12. It has a 2.25 net volume and is tuned at 40Hz (Termpro)...Actual in car is said to be 37Hz. I just ordered a new Fi Q 12 dual 1ohm and was wondering if it will work in my current box or do I need to change the tuning of the box?? How do you know how much to add or remove from the length of the port to get the Hz I'm looking for? I have attached a pic of the box that I have. Any help on this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
