Ok, don't want to start any kind of drama here, lol. Just want to inform those who don't know. The Steve Meade Distortion Detector has a price listed for "less" then 139$ each. I'm guessing 138.99$ If you don't know what this product is, here is the info for it provided by his youtube channel. Also, I don't own any rights for this or any of the following information given. lol, I don't want any kind of legal trouble from the man. Just informing the community. "Ever wonder how to set your amp gains properly? Do you just turn them up till its loud enough for you and call it done? Do you turn them up all the way...... or do you tell your boys "my amp is ONLY up 1/4 of the w…

Ok so I am not new to car audio but I am somewhat new to high power car audio and I have a question. Current setup: 147db in an 06 eclipse 3x optima yellow tops 2x 1/0 along with a big three stock 110a alt,(soon to be 240a) Sundown zv.4 rev2 15" 1ohm (2000 rms) ts3.5k (5k uncertified) 5 cubicft box with dual 6" aero ports My question is this, I tuned my system with an oscilloscope, the voltage reached the max of my oscilloscope with ought any clipping that I could see, I do not remember the voltage but when multiplied by my clamp meter results I got around 1200 watts that sounded fine so I left it. The problem is that any time …

so ive been to nearly every shop in orange county, and a few outside of it still in so cal and they are all a joke. they dont know anything, and push products that are absolute crap, like nitro. they have never heard of any brands such as SSA, FI, IA, TC, DC, AA, and only a few know RE. we on here know what is good and what is crap. and the worst part is that when you try to tell them about these brands they tell you that they are internet junk and have no warranties and downplay you all together. EVEN when you play your system for them thye still say its just ok but kicker CVR's or L7's are better. SO kicker CVR's and L7's are better than anything FI, SSA, DC, IA, etc? h…

i've become quite bored with the people in NC as almost everyone here is stuck on Alpine and JL and no one offers any good company. I am at wits end with people where i work who think Zapco is a Walmart brand and that the Kicker Comp Vrs are a good sub to get. No offense to the company as a whole, but i'm on to better things than those play toys. So where are the NC members? I need people who are into the same companies and same wants in car audio, SQ and good amt of SPL and don't try and tell me a Sony P5 is the key for my setup. Also as a side note, I need people who are also very good tech wise and good on reviews. I am starting my own online company and looking …

Well a "new to me" car and it is a 2006 Infiniti m35. I did not want the damn 14 piece bose system but I found a low millege m35 for a good price and it has it. I haven't listened to it yet (I won't be receiving it for another week or two) but I am assuming the worst from my past experiences with other bose equipment. How much of a pain in the ass would it be to install a head unit in the glove box or center console and maintain the factory dash and steering wheel controls. I really don't want to mess with the dash as it has a 6 disc changer in it and is beautiful as it is. I'm at the point where I may just add a sub if the sound isn't terrible, I can't find anyone who re…

Ant at Second Skin just got about $450 and the guys at Knu around $250. Bulk pack of Damplifier Pro and 4 sheets of Lux Liner Pro. That should be enough for a King Cab I would think. 50' of 1/0 KLMX, 40' of 4ga KLMX, 20' of Karma 10ga speaker wire, 100' of Karma 16ga and 2 pairs of Klarity 4m RCAs. All wiring hardware is getting reused from the previous system and is Stinger Xpert. Build log will begin in about a month.

I looked at both company's products and was a little baffled as to why AA would want all of their subs to have a 1.85 ohm(3.7 since all of their subs are dvc) whereas FI's products are 2 ohm/vc respectfully unless FI's are the same but just secretly rounded. I used the calculator on http://www.the12volt.com but couldn't get the AA's to come out to an even ohm no matter how many woofers are added to the mix.

From XM to Sirius I got stuck with XM because of my Pioneer deck, and when Pioneer released the Sirius tuner I bought it up quick. And I'm so glad I did, Sirius sounds 100x better then XM. Their programming is much more "mature" in my opinion. XM has been deleting channels to make way for MLB channels. They took off my favorite channel and that just topped it off for me. There is much more I could rant on and on about XM, but I'm glad I have Sirius now. Also the Sirius tuner is 1/2 the size of the XM tuner. But was also a little harder to install. Channel 27

yeah, so today i stopped by my local audio pawn shop today to see what they would give me for the rims on my truck. and of course, as soon as the owner of the shop walked up to my truck, he seen the big ass magnet of the zcon between the seats and wanted a demo.as usual, i got the " ssa audio?? iv never heard of them" so i cranked her up for him and he was very surprised to hear all that bass form 1 15. he then said he was going to look into ssa for his own personal set-up haha. i just wanted to share another one of my "ssa audio??" stories with you guys

ok So ive been looking at build logs for awhile been on a member on ca for a while just never really posted anything. They'll make you wanna choke em some of the shyt they do. But i work at best buy and we get a pretty good discount on the speakers and stuff. So im trying 2 decide between a rf 1000bd thousand watts at 1ohm or an alpine mrp 1000 thousand watts at 2 ohms gonna get p3's or type Arghhs 12's. Just dont know much about either brand i've only owned kenwood excelon. Heard some rf stuff in my unkles tsx they where pretty loud, But i kno that the alpine subs atleast are over rated but the amps i hear get hot quick. Hopefully i dont get flamed for not having pics…

...and one of the main deciding factors was that it has to have a lot of potential for a very good sound stage. Probably something that a lot of you have thought about. What would it be? SUV? Hatchback car? Small? Big? Medium? Oh and it has to be decently quick and cool looking, manual, and around $5.5K used. Since my truck is so unreliable, I'm throwing in the towel and buying something else. Plus everyone who has a standard cab S-10 knows exactly how hard it is to get good sound going in it. I'm planning on doing barely anything on the outside save for some window tint, and doing a very clean, very stealthy install. No bling, no flair. No fancy speaker grilles or brigh…

So i just got my ascendant audio havocs. I went with 2 12 inch dvvc at 2 ohms each. I thought i would be able to run a amp that makes power at 2 ohms but i dont think i can im lost on what to look for. Im not really looking for what specific brand (although that would be nice) i just dont want it to turn into a argument of whose better, but more of what things in an amp i should be looking for to properly run this amp. Such as 1 ohm stable, 2 ohm stable, etc. because im lost. Im running a alpine cda-117 headunit if that matters.

I was looking around on some forums and i saw http://www.****/forum/showthread.php?t=61103 I wondered why you would need that, so i looked at his build log and found http://www.****/forum/showthread.php?t=64796 Wow, well i guess i can't say Car Audio classifieds. So just copy and replace the "****" with car audio classifieds So this raises a couple of questions for me, i am still new to car audio, well the big league car audio anyways. Why does he need that many 1/0 gauge wires running to his sundown amp? I understand that maybe the resistance is less but still... Do i need to do something similar? Also, i noticed he has two sets of power, how exactly does that work? Is it…

Yes it's a little obscene that I have 97,800w on tap. No it's not in a car. Its in a 2200 seat church. All the power ratings except for the subs are at 8 ohms. We have all four channel amplifiers. I won't get into amplifier topology now, but suffice it to say... they're super efficient. 1x C10:4 (4 x 250 = 1000w) 1000 [fills] 4x C16:4 (4 x 400 = 1600w) 6,400 [high frequency] 4x C28:4 (4 x 700 = 2800w) 11,200w [monitors, fills] 4x C48:4 (4 x 1200 = 4800w) 19,200w [midrange] @ 8 ohms 6x FP10000Q (4 x 2500 = 10,000w) 60,000w [subwoofers, midbass] http://www.labgruppen.com/products/ All this is fed by a isolated power transformer that weighs in at 744lbs. Each amplifier is c…
