so in two years, i am getting a car. it will be my 16th birth day present. now my plan is: (4) MJ-18's in a clamshell (4) 6.5" tang bands in the doors (1) U.S. Amps XT-2000d @ 1ohm (subs) (2) Legacy LA160's (mids and highs) and 6 pioneer tweeters. all this crap is going in the back of a 99' beetle. ported and tuned to 30Hz, will this monster blow my car up? i mean it would be fun, but i would have no mode of transportation. so please, tell me now if doing this will be a waste of money and/or put me out of a car. i mean, how bad could it be? i just like my music loud!

Hey Guys, I'm In Sort Of A Dilemma.. I Just Don't Know If My Sub is blown or if my Enclosure has an air leak or something.. I made a Long TEMPORARY Enclosure for my 2 15' Orion HCCA .. no bracing no fiberglass on the inside and on certain songs it sounds like AIR is leaking or something it just sounds bad....but only on certain songs.. now my concern is are my subs blown or is it the shabby job of an enclosure that i threw together...(and when i say shabby i mean i didnt take the time to seal the inside with fiberglass or etc etc etc)

I was thinkin, would i need to build something like a funnel around the box of my subs leading up to the cuthrough in my truck to make optimal use of output from my subs......or would it be okay to just put the box few inches back from the wall of the truck?

Okay, my buddy wants to put some stuff in his boat and I really have no idea here. I'm looking for some help. MY best guess would be to treat it like a convertible automobile which means high efficiency and loads of power. Now, this has to be rather budget friendly. He has a Sony HU, all I need is some subbass and some CHEAP drivers to handle the rest of it. I will probably go with a line array of some sort running horizontally throughout the boat. Now, amplifiers is my biggest concern. Being a wet environment, I am wary about this. I know there are marine specific components, but browsing through some, they appear to be nothing more than a traditional component pa…

I don't think I've seen any boats on here yet, so I decided to take a few pictures of a customer boat I did at work today. It's still in progress. He have 2 10" Kenwood Sub, one in each compartment in fron and 2 Kenwood Coax speakers in the back. There are 2 more sets going in the front in the walk through or under the benches. All powered by the New Kenwood XR5s 5 channel amp and an Excelon Deck. This thing ROCKS! it's loud and definitely a beach party boat. It has been party proofed so no drunk people fry everything! Heres some Pictures. Even with a Set of 6.5 Coax speakers, this thing gets loud! The customer remove all the carpet and the seats for our con…

So I want to get started on the wall for the dcons, but I realized I probably won't be able to replace panels in the rear with the wall in. So there is my quandary. My right rear quarter panel is rusted all the way through, it's painted over as a temporary cover up but it's still obvious. Should I postpone the wall for months and months for me to replace all the panels that need to be replaced? Or any other ideas? I've also thought about finding another bronco with a good body and doing the modifications I want to make it my style, but this truck as a lot of sentimental value so that would be hard for me.

So i have tried searching and couldn't find anything specific about what kind of bolts to use for bolt terminals and how to install them. I usually run the wire right threw my box but i want to try some terminals this time. I tried looking for copper because copper is a good conductor but i could not find any. So what is the next best kind of bolts to use? How do you screw them on? I was thinking about putting some t nuts in the box on the inside and screwing my ring terminals into those then attaching the wire on the outside with bolts. any input would be greatful.

I have a stock alt and 2 dura last golds up front and no battery in the rear yet. So I just ordered a dc power dual alt bracket and will order either a mechman 260 amp alt or a dc power 250sp to run along side my stock alt!!!!!!!!!! I'm so pumped!!!! If my calculations are correct, I should see about 260 at idle and 365 at full output with the mechman alt or 240 at idle and 355 at full tilt with the dc power setup!! I'm bout damn ready to see steady voltage!!!!!!!!! Hopefully high 14's too

HI fellas, I recently bought a 1999 Buick Park Avenue and am in need of your expertise. So far I have a Kenwood KVT-911 DVD, 2 12" JLW7's, Audiobahn 2300HCT { I know you guys hate Audiobahn, but I got it the year it came out brand new in box for $100 and 2 very old pioneer IMPP's} that has never even been used, I plan to run it at 1ohm. I am now looking for a nice used 4 channel amp for around $100 on craigslist, I want 65-75rms per channel. I need suggestions on a good pair of 6x9 and 4x6 to run off the 4 channel, I would not like to spend more than $125-150 for both sets. 2nd question is the car has another set of 4x6's upfront also, could I run an identical set of 4x6 …

Just wondering, lookin at it for a cheap source of power for a friend. He wants "LOUD CHEAP and GOOD" Which is obviously next to impossible. But if his standards are that low, maybe Boss is for him! http://www.millionbuy.com/bosol5kd.html

I got these a few days ago to replace a set of Infinity Reference components and they sound pretty dang good. Big Big Big improvement. The only problem I have is the output is way down compared to the 2 ohm rated Infinity, which ain't a bad thing because they were very harsh to my ears, but the Bostons are having a hard time keeping up with my sub bass with only 60 watts on them. I am sure they would love some more power and probably wake up and really shine. Details........ The Bostons are rated @ 3ohm and 125w rms and I have a Rockford Forgate 450.4 amp that puts out 60w RMS x 4 @ 2 ohm, 100w x 4 @ 2ohm, and 225w x 2 bridged @ 4ohm. I had thought about just bridging the…

Well, after having way to many options to choose from I finally just went out and bought a receiver for my home audio setup. Pics here! I like it so far, spent about 30 minutes with it so I haven't done to much. Did the auto EQ (cause it comes with a mic) and it sounds pretty good. It's got T/A, and abunch of stuff that I don't think I"ll use but it's nice to have. BTW those are klipsch hersey's if you are wondering . Enjoy. -chev
