Ok so i have a 10" JL w3v3 4ohm driver and a cheapo pioneer amp( i know i know moneys tight) So i hooked this all in my 05 ranger with a Kenwood Excelon deck. I have 2ga welding wire for ALL hot and cold connections. I did the big 3 except for the engine ground for Now. I tossed my cap out as it didnt help and read alot of bad ju ju about them. I get dimming light as do most on Hard bass hits whenthe amp is at +6db's and the deck is at 5 to 15db's. I want to know if i should invest in a second battery (xs power or kinetick) or swap the stock battery out for a better one?? Otherwise i thought about just getting a H/O alternator.? Everyone has their own way of doing stuff and I'm sure you guys all have some little tricks you use whether it be for installing, building, tuning, etc. Would be kinda cool just to see what everyone does. I'll start....when something is rattling but I can't tell from where, I plug my nose and keep my mouth shut, then I try to exhale. It cuts out all of the bass and you can clearly hear things rattling. The same thing happens when you plug your nose while you sneeze, or if you yawn.

Anybody with a 98 or newer jimmy/blazer had any issues doing the big 3 upgrade? I have all the wire just wanna make sure i'm not gonna have any surprises when i go to do it

Im trying to learn more about hlcd's and I only know of two brand which is illusion audio ch 1 and the krypt audio one. The illusion audio is cheaper but I cant find a website to even purchase them. Can someone just do me a favor and just post some links to different brands of HLCD's?

I have a DC lvl 4 m2 18 d2 and an american bass hd 3500. bout 1200rms clean. the sub takes 1400 and its underrated. on dc's site they reccomend a 6 cube box. how to i know how much to compensate for the lesser power?

Hello, so I have a dodge charger Srt with the Boston setup. I took the kicker sub outta the trunk and put in my Fi BL. When I get home from this deployment I'm looking at changing all of my inside speakers. I'm look for sound quality. The bass is there, but I want the inside to be very clean! Help me choose my setup. I'll go with 6.5s in the front door and 6x9s in the back dash. What brand and models and amp do you recommend. I'd like to get it done under $1k but that's flexible. In another post you mentioned something about bouncing sound off the windshield is bad. But when I spoke to "a famous sq guy" <--- his name to himself... He said bouncing your tweeters off the front windshield did a bunch of great things. Can u tell me your reasons for it being bad please? Or anyone, I just called him specificly because he mentioned It. (I didn't really listen to his BS when he told me hair tricks are dumb and anything over 1000 watts is a waste, and that subwoofers should only be used 2% of the time during your listening) <---- no subs?! So a friend of mine (much older) said he used to compete 15 years ago and did a 151.3 on 4 15" mtx 500 watt subs on a Phoenix gold 1000.1 competition amp in the trunk of a thunderbird. But when describing his system (had all the normal great things to do for car audio) but one thing I found curious was he routed part of his AC to go on the bass amp. And he said that helped keep his amp crazy cold, and he could make that amp produce much more then 1000 watts "because of the amp temp and the good voltage" he estimated close to 2,000 watts. Which way is better to charge second battery parallel with front battery or direct from alternator

ok this started a month ago, my right hand sub blew, i chocked it up to a year of abuse and so forth, so i reconed it, dropped it in, and blew it in seconds,.... i thought maybe i miss shimmed it. well i barrowed a pair of BTLS from a good friend, and same mother fucking thing, every time on the right hand side sub. i checked all my speaker wires, and termials i check how i had it seriesed, i did find what seemed to be an issue of 1 RCA seemed to cut off when i jiggled it, but even if its shorting out, its feeding a mono block amp.... so it would short BOTH subs.. not just the right hand. im really at my end and im not sure what else it could be.... i cant con…

I have been looking at Builds trying to plan a box for 4 18" mayhems but I noticed that Steve has a tiny port for his 4 18"s in his Tahoe. how is it possible that he hits so hard with a small port? could I use a box like this and get the same results?

I built the box that my SSA 12" Icon is in right now originally for my 12" RD Alpha V2, which the box is 2.3 cubes tuned to 33hz. Just the basic "L" shaped port.
