  2. I have a friend in the Navy who is single and has money to burn. He needs some boom in his Explorer (he's my co-admin over at fordexplorer.net). I suggested to him RE XXX 15's, whatever amp denim told me to buy, probably RE components too in the according sizes. I'd like to see what some of you guys who live and breathe this stuff have to say because denim isn't on aim ever any more

I am having a fucktard moment, and have a basic ass question. I have, on each channel, two 6 ohm speakers in series for 12 ohms, and then paralleled to a 2 ohm coil. What is the final impedance? I googled several calcs, and none had options for multiple impedances, save for one, but that one gave some answers that looked completely wrong, as in, the speakers with lower impedances receiving less power.... I'm just double checking that this temporary setup isn't wired to a reckless load, my amp doesn't like going below 4, and the last calc I tried gave me 1.7ohm final. It doesn't heat up, and doesn't cut out....But I'm not trying to learn the hard way.

http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bin/suscon/60823-scion-xb.html Was looking at possibly bagging my car to help out with the stereo, but those kits are damn expensive. Came across this and feel that it would be way more beneficial seeing as my car does not need to go any lower. Just a few questions. Has anyone tried these? Or something similar. How well do they hold up. Do you constantly need to add air to it. Would the air kit be worth it? its like 180 bucks more. Figured it would be a good solution to the sagging back end from equipment.

I just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 sedan and already bought a Pioneer avh-3200bt along with everything that it needs to get hooked up (I hope), haha guess i'll find out when I hook it up. Now I am looking for speakers. My last system had two 6.5" Polk Audio DB651s, and two Infiniti reference 9623i 6x9's which were just powered by the HU and they sounded good to me, but now I want to get speakers that will get very loud and stay crisp. I already have a 12" RD Alpha V.2 sub which will be powered @ 1500rms so bass isn't a concern with the speakers. I know there is lots of different reviews on speakers so I am hoping that I can get some opinions from people off of here that can hel…

Hey all.Im going to be getting my taxes back in a month and im going to get myself a new car.I want either a 1990-2000 model chevy blazer or a mitsubishi 3000gt.Ive wanted a 3000gt since i was about 13 (Im 20 now) and this may be the only chance I have to get one.I know I can get loud in a blazer but could I get as loud in a 3000gt?Like if I put a FI BTL 18 n2 in the blazer with a aq2200 for an amp and has the same thing in the 3000gt,which would be louder? Thanks. As the title says. Is it the amount of subs, how much power you have or is it just the ability to impress people with what you can do with what you have.

I just got a Kicker L7 12 2 ohm and I have an alpine m500 amp, i know its underpowered but it seems to be bottoming out or clipping. It just sounds awful. I dont know if i described this very well just ask and ill provide information where needed. Is it just a tuning problem? Also it will just cut off when the volume gets to loud.

Hi ladiess and gents, I have been thinking about my next subwoofer enclosure. To be a little different and it sounds to be a fun project, I wanna try and build a sonotube enclosure. Has anyone here had any experiance with them, good or bad? I also scoured the web and I can't seem to find prices or anywhere that sells sonotubes by the foot. Are there other names they go by? I am getting an 18 nightshade so there will be bracing and all that stuff. I'm looking to get a 24 inch dia. tube to keep the length down. Thanks.

I have two different brands of speaker wire that are turning green inside the jacket. It is not turning green at the ends just in certain areas of the covered wire. Ive spent two hours googling and just seen multiple forums and websites where it turned into an argument whether the discoloration was due to oxidation or the chemical reaction between cheap insulation and the copper wire. Please don't turn this into a pissing contest. Either you know or don't know, don't need guesses. What causes the discoloration and will it affect the signal if used? Remember its not at the ends, just restating that for the people who can't read. One set of wire is brand new and it came lik…

Was thinking of wiring up the big 3 in my 04 grand prix. Don't have a high output alt, should the hookup only be done if the alt is aftermarket quality? What other determinations should sway me to do or not do this wiring?

I just purchased two 15 inch Icon's through the black friday sale. I plan to run them off of a nine.1 each. I am in the process of locating a 240 amp alt for a 97 lincoln towncar. Will I also need a second battery for the system with this high out put altenator. The other issues i have is I am running a pheonix gold xenon 200.4 on a set ed 6500 and a some ma audio 6x9 for rear fills. The ed 6500s can't take the power from that amp though. Can anyone give me some recommendations on how to tackle this rebuild.

  24. Ok so I've been trying to troubleshoot alternator whine through my 4 channel since I've installed it. Let me first list my equipment. Wired this to cars harness myself as I did not need the expensive PAC harness, as I didnt care if I maintained onboard date/time display or door chimes. 4 channel amp: SSL F400, poopy I know, but this is my first time hooking up a 4 channel so babysteps 6x9s: Infinity Reference 691.3 3-way, Using a pair of stinger bass blockers on them to just get use of frequencies 15…
