Well, i was trying to talk to the 'new guy' at my local audio shop. And we started talking about what we had, and i was telling him i was trying to sell my Type X's to get a Fi Q. Supsrisingly he has actually heard of Fi, but he was very closed minded towards them. ANYWAYS, he ended up telling me he had four Type R's 12" in a ported box, in an Impala like mine! So, i went out to get a demo. Pretty loud i guess, but he was trying to tell me he has hit 154db. Considering that his box looked fairly small for 4 12's i doubted it. I guess im just rattled that people like that can get a job but when i apply i dont even get an interview. >.>

I know everyone has their plethora of rap songs with heavy bass, but does anyone know of any good songs with heavy bass in another genre? A few I know are Decaf- White Clouds, as well as the Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight bass remix. Just wondering if anybody has some songs they knew of with some very unexpected bass. It's fun to scare the shit out of people with a bass line they didn't know was coming!

Sup guys it's jfreezy. I was wondering if it's possible to bring your home audio into a car? I'd like to know if it is possible. I'm curious. My cousin has a home audio sub with built in amp in the box. It has the wall outlet plug. It can be a straight up sub and has terminals for speakers. Thing is like 250watts. Do you guys think it's possible to have this in a car with a dc to ac converter ? Like, top of the line dc to ac converter, one that can handle alot of wattage. If this is possible it would be pretty cool and cheap too lol. Just something my cousin and I are thinking about on this boring day.

Hello guys, just to let you know some scores with SSA subs this week end. A friend of mine did 145.2 dbs at 44 Hz IIRC, with 2 Xcon 15" on 4 saz1000 amps. It was his first time metering on a Termlab. Sensor on the windshield, on the right side. He was very pleased with that score, for a non spl setup. His box is 4 ft3 per sub, tuned to 30 Hz. Another one did 140.1 with an SSA Icon 15" in a 3.5 ft3 box tuned to 32 Hz.. The amp was a Digital Design M1 (I think so). The spl record for the week end is 150.something. But with a "pure" spl setup : wall, no mids&highs ! I don't know what subs and what amps were playing. I'll try to meter my car soon. I know a guy with a Te…

Sorry if this is the incorrect thread. But I wasn't sure where to put it. Ok here we go. I'm planning on upgrading a lot of the parts on my car to Carbon fiber. my question since I don't have a lot of experience is, would it be a bad idea to install a Carbon fiber Hatch on my car? The reason I'm asking is because I am unsure of the strength of carbon fiber. I don't want to put it on, just to have my system shatter or crack it or something.

By the by I had this hooked up click here thanks for any advise. Btw I have top post on a red top yes I know I said red top but its what I had on hand until I get a different bat.

Ok so...we all know that some vehicles are louder than others, some are more prone to flex so on and so forth. We all know that a 150 in one car can look and feel drastically different than a 150 in a different car. But what I want to know is... can there be more force behind a woofer's stroke which would in turn translate into moving more air and more flex BUT, it's not as loud on a meter? Let's take say...a pair 6x9. I can make the 6x9's play louder (to my ear anyway) than my pair of 12's but they move less air and hardly flex anything. It doesn't sound very "powerful," if you will. At the same time, my subs at a lot lower volume can move my mirror which the 6x9's can h…

So, I was just looking up on Kijiji (Canadian classifieds) and somebody is looking to trade his Two 14"? PG Competition subwoofers for a wakeboard. Anyways, he tried to say that these subs get up to 200db off of 400 watts. I just thought this was pretty funny. Post some exaggerations you found hilarious?

Does anybody know about when they will become available like next month or next year and around how much they will cost? I either want to get a saz1500v2 used for 287 before the sales ends or the OA. I really want the OA but I don't want to pay more then 300 for it when I can get the saz cheaper now.

  16. Alright, it came crashing down. I give props to Lil'Mike and dB-Kicker, I never could have pulled this off so it would have always been a daydream and a wish. I started a thread or 2 on the car audio area a long time ago about building a wall with THTs, then recently SoloX 18 THs. Here's the inquery I made April 18th. This is my way of still being able to make a thread since there won't be a build log. Jordan Powell What would you do? Hey Deon, I frequently toy with ideas of what I would do different if I had the opportunity to do another van build from scratch. The one I did was my only build of that magnatude, my 1st wall, first time running multiple subs with multiple…

No idea where to put this, so it's here I guess. Move if necessary. It looks as though they're eliminating the exodus subwoofer line. The anarchy midwoofer is $65.00 right now. This is what Kevin has posted on his site.

So i just sold my nightshades.. got $900 to spend on new setup which would be subs and speakers(still stock, idk what to look for). I still want the walled idea its just that two nightshades was too much for me i want something still loud and proud but the thing was that i couldnt power them correctly, dont have enough money. but the box is already made to fit two 15s, it wasnt really custom made for the nightshades, it was for any pair of 15s. so im lookin for two new 15s i like rap, hip hop, and dubstep. i loveeee decaf. i dont blast my music i listen to it very gently. but you know i give demos to friends and show what my stuff can really do! i currently have a saz 1…

Well. im just doing a bunch of general research and Scott Owens has the current SPL record at 182.2 db in his F-250. Obviously insanely modified and i understand that, i was just curious what type of box he uses. I cant really find much on what he actually used, does he keep it a secret? Idk im just kind of curious, it would be a nice little fact to know!

  24. So my girlfriend's older sister (30?) hears the system I put in my girlfriends car and now what's me to do one for her. She drives a 2000 Toyota Sienna Minivan and she doesn't want me to replace the factory radio (she says she likes it) I told her yeah this is possible but honestly I'm not to sure what to do. Factory radios don't have RCAs do they? What must I do? Line out converter? How do those work? I'm thinkin simple 12" kenwood kfc. 400rms. And Ill her get a sundown audio sax 1200 at 4 ohm (380?rms) had to rep sundown But yeah what must I do to complete this project. There's no rush. I'm not in a hurry but really don't want to mess up on my gf's sister's ride. She…

So I am running whats in my sig and hit a 147.4 @ 36hz so far. My subs get hot pretty quickly and my goal is to hit 150. I'm sure I could get better numbers with another box as mine is for daily driving music but I like that. I was thinking of trying a new box just to see the difference for now but I'm also thinking of going with a single sub setup as space is limited in my little ranger. If I were to go with a single sub, I was thinking of something with more power handling like a BTL N3 in 15" or 18". Either way, I would like daily 150's. I am very open to suggestions and recomendations. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
