im looking to build a custom box for an impala. i havent built one before so i was wondering how do i tune the box and what dimensions should i use for two 15 inch sundown nightshades? also what tools do i need to build the box and what tools are required for clamping your amp?

i thought about ripping the back seats out of my car one of my questions is how is the SQ on a wall build? AND about those NIGHTSHADES are they a SQ sub or built for SPL i see that they look a lil like the btl's how do they compare..i searched but i didnt find that much info on them

So my cousin just got a boat, he doesn't want big system, he wants something would just give him good sound, so my questions were that boats operate on 12v so i wouldn't need all those of marine audio or do I? Can I use like a regular car deck and speakers and amp? He just wants 4 speakers, 2 off the amp and other 2 off the Hu's power and leave the rear channel on the amp for a sub. But do you really need a sub for marine use would you be able to hear it? He just wants some thing little not go all out just for chillin...

Okay well i got into car audio about 6 months ago. I recently purchased 2 Diamond D1 12's, a 2 farad 2000 watt capacitor, and Memphis pr 100.2. I have all of the above installed in the back of my girlfriends explorer because im getting all new stuff for my car in December, this was kind of a test type install. I installed everything myself. I have a chitty box that they are sitting in right now. Just getting into car audio, i wasn't sure what to look for when buying a box. has anyone heard about the fi btl back order or when they are gonna be taken off back order. i would really like to order some drivers but i cant see dropping 400 on a sub and not getting it for who knows how long. im patient but i at least need a time frame.

A few of you know, Nick convinced me into doing my own recones. So I ordered them, they came in and a day later I went to work. One little thing to mention, NO ONE BETTER TAKE AWAY MY ORIGINALITY!!! Props to Fi on the black baskets, shame they won't be seen in my build but they look pretty damn sweet!

I'm a couple days away from buying two SS XXX 15s. I intend to run two Autotek MM4000.1Ds to them in about 8 cubes at 30 Hz. This is in the back of an 04 TrailBlazer subs up port back. While I am certain this will get loud I am finding myself leaning towards the fully loaded BTL 15s. The Autoteks would be too much power for the BTLs but let's say you had the option. See I got my own single Fi BTL12 last year.Now I'm working on how to compete in my hometown sound chellenge.I found out that its gonna be a lil bit diffrent getting a DB measurement when you pop up the trunk.Back in my country,that's how we do it.I know its kinda idiot try to get the DB reading while you opened up your trunk.. I just won my 1st SPL challenge in own place..they got 2 diffrents category that is (internal & External) during the the internal way I hit 133.6DB and 127.7DB for the external...I'm using the 1.4CF for my enclosure...can somebody help me with the box enclosure so I can reach higher DB for both category? coz I'm ready to take on any battle aft…

Ok, i hooked up a friends new amp, a 10001, to his q. it sounded really good for about a week then started making like a rattling noise and i cant figure out what it is. i have the settings on the amp to gain half and the crossover at 50. does anyone know why it might have a rattling noice. its not the box. im almost positive its the subwoofer.

I have a ported box built for a Rockford T2 12. It has a 2.25 net volume and is tuned at 40Hz (Termpro)...Actual in car is said to be 37Hz. I just ordered a new Fi Q 12 dual 1ohm and was wondering if it will work in my current box or do I need to change the tuning of the box?? How do you know how much to add or remove from the length of the port to get the Hz I'm looking for? I have attached a pic of the box that I have. Any help on this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I'm kinda new to car audio. Right now I'm just running a sundown e8v3 on a boss armor 1500 which actually puts out the ammount I need. Anyway I really want to upgrade and be loud. I'm not about spl and hitting high dbs more about music and perceived loudness. I can work with about 3.5 cubic foot box. I'm considering either a fi q 18 or a fi bl 15. I just need advise on which would be better.

Ok, within the next month or so I plan on getting a car stereo for my new car. I'm probably getting 4 alpine type component speakers, tweeters and cross overs with either a kenwood double din deck or a Power Acoustik touch screen deck to power the speakers. Now for the subs, right now Its between Fi and Dc, I'm leaning towards Fi but I'm just wondering what is the difference really between the Bl and the Dc?

I've been a loyal kicker fan for years. I've been sold on an 18" Fi Q but I just need a little reassurance that it can have more output than a 15" L7 with 1000 watts rms. I know the Q will have better SQ but I mostly listen to country so not a lot of hard bass to keep up with. I have enough room to port either of the two.
