well, today i just bought 2 15" PBX's. i have to say, very nice subs. with only about an hour or 2 of play time on them, the SPL is incredible and the sound is very tight. unfortunately, i have to have these beasts in a sealed box, since i can't fit ported unless i sacrifice ALL trunk room. each one is running off its own Infinity REF1210A (1300 watts @ 2 ohms). i just can't wait til these beasts are finally broken in, and i can turn the gain up a little more, then i'll be pounding. but, so far i'm VERY happy! for pics and such... Simple question i can't find the answer to. So, if i have an amp that does 100w per channel, does the 100 get split between tweet, and mid? will the mid and tweet both get 100w or would the 100w be split between them?

So i just got my ascendant audio havocs. I went with 2 12 inch dvvc at 2 ohms each. I thought i would be able to run a amp that makes power at 2 ohms but i dont think i can im lost on what to look for. Im not really looking for what specific brand (although that would be nice) i just dont want it to turn into a argument of whose better, but more of what things in an amp i should be looking for to properly run this amp. Such as 1 ohm stable, 2 ohm stable, etc. because im lost. Im running a alpine cda-117 headunit if that matters.

I've searched, and all the topics i've found are for trunks, which you can bolt, or use velcro. My box will be taking up 2 of the 3 rear seats, and i can't bolt it, and i also don't think i can velcro without ruining the seats. I was thinking L brackets, but i need something more flexible than that to make it to the rear panel of the truck cab. Suggestions?

I just bought a used JL Audio cleansweep and installed it tonight, but I do not have the calibration cd. If anyone happens to have the CD, could you rip it for me and email it to me. I'm looking to reduce a bit of the noise from under the hood. Can I use raamat BXT or secondskin's Damplifier underneath the hood for this application. Also, is there anything else that I could use or should along with one of those products. This is for my GMC Sierra 04. Thanks guys!!

I'm planning a build of 1 Fi BTL N2 18s off of two Crescendo BC3500s walled off in my truck, and I'm using the Torres Speaker Box Tuning Calculator. I'm wondering exactly what the "# of Common Port Walls" option means. I understand that it refers to how many sides of the box are going to act as sides of the port, but I don't know why the back of the box isn't considered a side of the box. I have about 52" of width to work with, so I'm looking for the port to be 50.5 inches wide, so it would span across the entire top of the box. ok so my cars alternator is PCM conrolled.. and that means low voltage to start with. 14 flat cold on a good day 13.8 13.6 hot with my 300 amp mechman 4 31 series dekas in the rear and an old exide orbital under the hood..... so i spend a few bills and get a misslink audio module, to boost my voltage, and at first it did.. 14.6 cold, 14 flat hot... but then it became very spratic it was all over the place, and some times 13.00 hot... but normally 14.2 or so idled up .... well while testing to get ready for texas heatwave the biggest show in texas, thats this weekend.. my scores were down a full DB... well my orbital under the hood is 5 year old maybe older.. so…

So I am going to do a new audio install on a '00 mercedes e320 and I'd like to run it by this crew to see if anyone has any suggestions. I am not very experienced at car audio but i am convinced that with a set of Crutchfeild mastersheet instructions and the help from a friend who has done several installs i can do it. i hooked up 2 PSI 18S and 2 Soundstream tx1.2000d amps. Gains and freq levels were set the same on each paired amp n sub. The first lil while i played it, everything worked fine. then all the sudden i notice one sub were playing lower than the other. wtf right...checked the impedance on the coils and they check out fine. So over the last few weeks ive done everything i can think of from checking connections, swapping subs around, new rca cables, even thought it might be the bass knobs, and still one of the amps is putting out less power. I can tell there is an issue because when i play a test tone, what ever sub is hooked to that amp suffers especially in the low range 20…

lol funny topic but true..heres the deal..latly i been really thinking if i need 4 18's since i will never compete and with all these noise violation laws..i think 2 18's will be enough for me..if they are not then no biggie just order 2 more..but heres the deal..do you guys think its justifiable to spend $1200 on sound deadening on just 2 18's? am i going over board? the plan is to go single layers on doors and double up every where else..which consists of 240 sq ft of damp pro and 160 sq ft of damp regular..so what you guys think? i just dont want to feel like the fools who buy rims that cost 3-5 times more then there car is worth..lol

I just bought a brand new Ram 1500 crew cab and I'm looking for ideas as far as the sub is concerned. Has anyone here done an install in a crew cab? I really don't want to go the shallow sub route. I would really like to find a way to keep my Icon 10. I realize that ported is out of the question so sealed will do. I was thinking about building a box to fit on the floor hump between the back seats. then I have to figure out how to mount 2 big a/b amps under the rear seat. Any thoughts?

hi ive done the big three and now i'm looking at a 2000rms amp and looking to add a 2nd battery to run it and i was wondering if some one could explain how to do this and is it worth it to help the electrical of my car for an amp that size

What makes your setup hit your chest hard? Is it the RMS amount? Box Tuning? Sub? What would be the best way to get the hard hitting, urghh my chest bass (: I have an Fi SSD 15(copper coil), just built the box , tuned to 33hz, 3.44 cubic ft. Powerd by a hifonics 1206d. Box is built just waiting on the Sub to come in the mail. If this setup isn't going to do it, then thats alright. But what is this build good for?

Ok here is where I'm at, I have a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD (2) MB quarts 6 1/2 components (2) MB Quarts 6x9s powered by a Soundstream PSA4.260 and (2) Soundstream RW 12 Subs (600 watts RMS each) Powered by a SoundStream PSA2.760 (760 Watts RMS bridged @ 4 ohms) Wired like so: How ever I was not satisfied. welp once again, i found a dumbass on craigslist with some good shit and didnt know what it was worth. 2 orion hcca 10's in a nice ported box for $300 lol. i had just enough cash to buy them but i decided to do the right thing and save it for my girls birthday next week..... so i haded the deal to my buddy. he ended up getting them for $250.... lolzzzz after work tonight (130am) we took both subs out the box expection them to be blown or atleast really dark coils but to my surprise, they look almost new!. i shot a little video for yall. IM doing a backseat box for a 07 dodge charger and just wanted to know the best direction to fire in? My original idea was to have subs inverted firing up and port up and no I don't want to wall it because im plannning on doing some fancy fiberglassing in the back seat. Im also not going to compete this is just a loud daily driver will be 2 18 zcons on a 5k amp. Just want to know optimal firing direction and the trunk will also be sealed off.

Hey guys! If nobody knows the answer to this question, then no big deal... Ok, I have a Kenwood X-395 deck hooked up to a rockford prime 400-4 (via 4-chan RCA) and i was wondering if anyone has tested this deck on a DD-1 or o-scope and could tell me at what volume level it distorts. (By "it" i mean the deck itself, of course). By ear, i estimate it to be around 28 to 30 (the range is 0-35). I dont have access to either tool so i'll just stick with my ear if nobody knows, but if someone out there does know and could tell me that would be great! Thanks!

I have the Audiopipe pushing a ICON 12. Is that enough amp to push the sub. I have it hooked up right now and well it doesn't get much louder than my stock speakers.
