Does the direction the port is facing matter very much? What would the best direction be in this setup? 12" RL-p downfiring in an extended cab nissan frontier. The box will be ~2cubes tuned to ~30Hz. Would it be better to fire out the side towards passenger side, out the top, or forward toward drivers seat. If anyone has experience with this truck specifically that would be great, but just ideas would work.

Hey Guys, I'm In Sort Of A Dilemma.. I Just Don't Know If My Sub is blown or if my Enclosure has an air leak or something.. I made a Long TEMPORARY Enclosure for my 2 15' Orion HCCA .. no bracing no fiberglass on the inside and on certain songs it sounds like AIR is leaking or something it just sounds bad....but only on certain songs.. now my concern is are my subs blown or is it the shabby job of an enclosure that i threw together...(and when i say shabby i mean i didnt take the time to seal the inside with fiberglass or etc etc etc)

I wasn't sure if I should put this in Music or General Audio. I think it fits in both so I just stuck it here but please correct me if I am wrong. This is probably a stupid question but... Where can I get a CD or DL anything containing 10Hz-60Hz tones? I am trying get more into SPL and I wanna start testing different ports. The reason I want so low is because I have a 20Hz port for fun . I tried Bass Mekanik but it doesn't go as low and the tones kind of fade in and out (it's weird) and I can't find anything on iTunes. PLEASE HELP lol. Thanks!

This is what I've been playing with for the last 2 days. Crappy camera, but you get the point. '96 Stratus. Pioneer HU, Quart 5.25s in the doors, RF 400s and BD500, and 3 10W6s. Only thing missing is the lovely carpet I forgot to get on my last order from PE. Oh well. Enjoy.

  8. Recently bought my Mechman 240a alternator for my truck. I'm curious as to what you guys do as I'm getting some pretty bad advice from a forum I visit often. It's about 50/50 some people say to fuse while others say don't. Some even call me lazy for thinking of not fusing. It's hard to figure it out when everyone has a different opinion. Mechman told me NOT to fuse it as it could introduce voltage drop across the fusing and it's not needed. Some others tell me my vehicle will burn to the ground. I have all the fuses and holders from KnuKonceptz but if it'll be fine without a fuse I have no issues not using one, makes it easier. So, what's the verdict on here? What d…

Hi, I need some tips to reduce vibration noises in Golf Cab 1989... On doors: - I have applyied a vibrational damper to the outer door skin. - I have fitted an absorbent product behind the speakers - I have filled holes with a adhesive damper product - I have applyied a vibrational damper to the inner door skin. Trunk and roofs - I have applyied a vibrational damper and an isolator product. I have done another tasks on trim panels, license plate... using polyurethane foam and urethane seam sealer. On interior body, vibration noises have been halved but I don't know how to reduce the noises prompted by metal framework of top cover. Some idea??? Sorry for my poor english. T…

Its been a while since i have kept up with the audio industry and even when i did i was still a rookie. I was lucky enough to have a guy by the name of Alton from this same forum make me box measurements for my car but sadly my car was stolen right before i got to install everything in late 2012. I finally have a car with a big enough trunk to do it all over again hah. So know for my question. I have Two Sundown SA-12 D4's that will be running on a Sundown Saz-1500d v.3 WIth 1/0 gauge xs wire. My question is where and what are your opinions on trusted inline fuse holders that will fit my wire gauge and also how many should i get? Im guessing two. I have seen some pretty p…

So I'm building a ported box and i am definitely a noob at all this. I have 2 jl audio 12w6 and online they give me all the measurements for the ported box. My problem is i'm confused on the tuning aspect of ported enclosures. I'm going to give you all a link to jls website at the bottom that tells you all the measurements for the box. Now if i have this right all i have to do is fallow the port measurements (and all the other measurements of course) and my box will be tuned to 32hz right? http://www.jlaudio.com/12w6v2-d4-car...-drivers-92121 go to specifications tab and at the bottom it will say ported enclosure specifications I know its only for one subwoofer but it sa…

So I've had my setup for a bit now... I am currently powering my front stage with a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... Sounds great and strong... Only issue is that when I set the gain between the 8v and 4v setting (closer to the 4v setting) the speakers seem to emit a static/hiss noise when paused or during quiet segments past the volume of 30 which I'm almost always at ... I've pretty much noticed if the amplifier gain setting is at 8v it is perfect but very very low.... Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have this tweeter set in the dash and this 6x9 set in the doors ... So the amplifier is currently seeing a 2 ohm load.... Should I ditch that setup and get …

  17. I understand that things are almost always "build, test, tear down, build, test; nothing works the same for everyone," but I'm wondering what others' experiences are with sub and port placement/alignment in a small Suv? 1) Would it be better to have the port rear firing into the hatch; or have the port firing up, parallel to and right up against the hatch? Assuming both enclosures take up the entire cargo area just under the window line and same external dimensions. Thinking that firing into the hatch would create more unwanted rattle, which could possibly hurt output(not to mention, sound like ass)? 2) Slot port running the width of the box, along the floor, vs…

  23. I would like to know if anyone has any tips on how to adjust/tune my head unit and amp so i can get the best preformance and sound quality without messing anything up... My head unit is a pioneer DEH P3100UB and my amp for my front stage components is a cadence xenith. A thiong on the head unit i kinda dont understand is when i am on EQ 2 if i remember correctly on the option for highs i can adjust from 1k, 8k, 10k, or 12k and another option i can choose is 1w, 2w, 1n, or 2n.
