Trying to figure out what to cover the amp rack and box with. I've normally just done carpet that was the closet match for the area the install is in. Trying to decide if I want t do something else now. I did a couple installs in the past where I used formica on the amp rack and trim pieces with carpet and I liked the look. Used to be able to pick up smaller sized pieces at Home Depot, but seems only full sheet now. Can't do vinyl, tried in the past and it just doesn't work well for me. Since all my trim will be black, I was thinking maybe white formica on the amp rack and maybe do the same on the top of the box, then make a carpeted trim pice that is cut bigger t…

Okay, so i am wanting to build a box for my two Sa-12s. The width of the box is 40" The height is 13" The depth is 16" The total box volume without subwoofer displacement or port displacement is 3.709. Im trying to get a frequency of 35hz. I want to go with an aero port but im not really sure what would be a good size? I did the online calculators and for a 6" aero it would need to be about 12" long. My only concern is if this is going to be enough port area for two Sa-12s? If its not what could i do to get a good port area for theses subs?

Equipment Specs: Woofer: Fi Bl 15 Amp: Hifonics 1500.1d Mono Box: Roughly 3.1 cubic feet tuned to 32 Hz Here is my question, Currently i have my subwoofer firing up and my port facing the rear of my car. If i was to put my box as close to the back seats as possible, would i be able to seal off the subwoofer/box from the rest of my trunk? I have a 2010 malibu if that helps at all. I would be having the port face the front of the car obviously, but i wanted to know if i would be able to do this and notice any difference in SPL? In my trunk, if i pushed the box as close as i can get to the rear seat, i would have probably have a foot and a half to two feet of open space be…

I have decided that I am open to trying a 6th order blowthrough for my XCON and will pay someone to design something for it. I currently am doing a ported box with a small adaptor over the front to channel it in through the ski-port but have been reccomended to just try a 6th or 4th order, I love the sound of 4th orders but the XCON is not so suited for that so a 6th order would be the go here. I am after a response resonably flat between 28hz and 50hz or so and the port has to exit pretty much central to the width of the box. The port can be external by 80mm at the top and about 110mm at the bottom and have max dimensions of W:320mm X H: 185mm (Internal Dimensions)…

So i have a friend that shows me Prefab bandpass boxes and i keep telling him not to waist his money and build it himself or find someone who knows what they are doing (he only has 2 p2s i think at the moment). I don't know much about Rockford subs or what the box specs are let alone for 4 of them. He also doesn't get what i mean by prefabs being cheap and not having the right tune. He think i mean tuning his head unit or amp. So basically what is the proper tune for a ported box for four P3D4-12s so i can tell him to find someone and just tell them you want a ported box tuned to -blank- for four p3's to fit what ever his trunk size is. I know it sounds kind of stupid to …

What would be louder? Currently have a bl 15 in a 3.1 cu box. I was wondering if two Sa 10's in a walled trunk would sound louder then my one 15? I dont know if this makes any difference but my 15 is firing upwards in the back of my car.

I was wondering what would sound louder?. One Fi bl 15 tuned to 32 hz in a 3.1 cu box firing upwards in the back of a trunk. Or 2 SA 10's in walled off trunk? And if i was to go with the 2 10's, would it be better to seal off the trunk and have the subs firing towards the front of the car, or would it be louder to wall off the trunk having a port and the subs facing the front of the car?

I have the 2200 A.Q. amp. The grounded wire got hot enough to melt, so when being replaced the power wire was still connected. When connecting the ground back to the amp it caused a popping sound and white smoke to come from the amp. Is it ok to try and reconnect it still or would it have caused damage to the amp.

I have read a little bit up on XS batteries and Mechman alternators But on Mechmans webite, when i enter all my car info (Car brand-Nissan, Model-Altima, Year 2001. Nothing pops up) What are your opinions on what i should need to run Two Sundown SA-12 D4s on a Sundown SAZ-1500D v3 at 1ohm (1500watts) with 1/0 Xs flex wire?

Ok hey guys, im new to this forum. Im guessing you guys are type experts on subs if not, any information helps. I have a 07 BMW X5 and I just bought a 15" Soundqubed subwoofer and a x14 brutus hifonics 1500 watt amp I want to wire to 1ohms, and im doing it also to my stock head unit. My battery is in my trunk so I don't have to wire a lot to the front of the car. Also wiring with 4 gauge. I was wondering what would the dimensions be for my box? length, depth width? volume? what could my sub displacement be? and my port displacement? Im thinking also 4.5 cubic net tuned 34-38hz please let me know give me ideas, info, anything thank you so much GS

Rebuilding for 1 or maybe will use both of my subs. At 5cu. Each. Want to get an idea where to tune, want to see how low i can get. A friend of mine hits 20hz with zv4. Not sure team can get there but i want to try. Any ideas fellas. Thx. (2 team 15's 2 sq 3500's) 10cu. Max aloted space in trunk.

Hi guys, new here but been running Sq for a while. I currently have an Sq 3.0 12" and a Sq mono 1200w amp. I'm about to purchase a twin amp and hook them together. My sub is 1 ohm. They way I understood it that running both amps in parallel would keep it a 1 ohm load from both amps. I would like to see a wire diagram on were to run the speaker wire from each amp plz and thank you.

Its been a while since i have kept up with the audio industry and even when i did i was still a rookie. I was lucky enough to have a guy by the name of Alton from this same forum make me box measurements for my car but sadly my car was stolen right before i got to install everything in late 2012. I finally have a car with a big enough trunk to do it all over again hah. So know for my question. I have Two Sundown SA-12 D4's that will be running on a Sundown Saz-1500d v.3 WIth 1/0 gauge xs wire. My question is where and what are your opinions on trusted inline fuse holders that will fit my wire gauge and also how many should i get? Im guessing two. I have seen some pretty p…

Recently bought my Mechman 240a alternator for my truck. I'm curious as to what you guys do as I'm getting some pretty bad advice from a forum I visit often. It's about 50/50 some people say to fuse while others say don't. Some even call me lazy for thinking of not fusing. It's hard to figure it out when everyone has a different opinion. Mechman told me NOT to fuse it as it could introduce voltage drop across the fusing and it's not needed. Some others tell me my vehicle will burn to the ground. I have all the fuses and holders from KnuKonceptz but if it'll be fine without a fuse I have no issues not using one, makes it easier. So, what's the verdict on here? What d…

I just bought a brand new Ram 1500 crew cab and I'm looking for ideas as far as the sub is concerned. Has anyone here done an install in a crew cab? I really don't want to go the shallow sub route. I would really like to find a way to keep my Icon 10. I realize that ported is out of the question so sealed will do. I was thinking about building a box to fit on the floor hump between the back seats. then I have to figure out how to mount 2 big a/b amps under the rear seat. Any thoughts?

Hey guys i think I'm in the right area of the forum to post this but if I'm not, my bad. I bought two Fi BL 15s fully loaded with the daily option a few months back. Originally I was going to buy a Sundown or Cresendo amp but money is tight so I've been looking into the Hifonics BE 2500.1. I know they have a bad name, but I currently own an older series Hifonics BXi 2008d and honestly love the amp. Don't get me wrong I've had it repaired about 4 times but all due to inefficient power supply. The new series is CEA compliant and Steve Meade proved they do put out the power advertised. With that being said, do you guys think a 240 amp Mechman Alt could power the 2500 rms am…

I know the Term-LAB is by all means the best to use but is also really expensive. Are there any other meters out there that are good and cheaper?
