Does anybody run bandpass boxes and if so, what subs are good to run in that type of enclosure? I quit running bandpass boxes awhile back because I thought they hold in wayyyy to much sound....

Ok I am getting ready to build my wall and was wondering what size bandpass box and port would be required for 3 solox 12's running off of 3 crunch GP3000dpros? Its going in a smaller car so that is why I am using 12's. tuning would be for everyday listening.

Does anyone know anything about designing a bandpass box. I have a pair of 12 w6s in a ported box w 2 6 inch areo ports tuned to 44 hz and a jl 1000/1. I can do 143.4 db at a 48-50 hz tone. Im trying to get in the uper 140s without reaching the 2500-4000 watt amplifier range. Any help on design principals or general advise on how to get louder would be greatly appreciated.

So, unfortunately i don't think i will be able to get the hight i need for 15s in a regular blow through. i have been looking in doing some sort of bandpass blow through with the chamber firing into the truck from the bed. i have read other posts and things but there seem to be too many different opinions and not facts. Any information for me would be greatly appreciated. I have seemed to be more focused of a 6th order. i like the way its ported inside a port but i do NOT have much knowledge on this so i'm looking forward to learning more about it. Would a bandpass be my best option, if so which one and why? i was looking to do something like this.

  5. Aight guys, I have 10" american xfl sub a ported box tuned to 30hz in my sedan and I was thinking about switching it up and doing a 4th order bandpass box with a flared port tube shooting thru the rear deck. Also the rear deck will custom fiberglassed and molded to securely mount the port and speakers. Or should I just leave the ported box and fiberglass the rear deck with a vent for the bass to come thru. I'm just trying to eliminate having to keep the armrest down or having the seats folded down so that the bass isn't trapped in the trunk. Here's a video of a lexus with a 4th order bandpass box ported thru the rear deck thru the factory sub location http://www.caraudio.…

Ok I've been doing a lot of research on standard 6th order bandpass boxes, and haven't found enough information to decide if its better than standard ported for spl. If I tune a 6th order with a very narrow high output passband, such as 39hz rear and 44hz front, or in this general region, will it be louder than a ported box with a similar tuning? From what I've seen the 6th order will boost output higher, but it strains the subwoofer more and lowers power handling, so it has more output but you can put less power to it so they balance out... I want to try one out but if you guys think it wont be louder than just ported for spl use only then it's not worth trying. Also I…

Sorry for all the questions lately, but i'm getting very close to having my box complete, and want everything to be right. So, has anyone used bed liner for their boxes? I really like the look of it, and i really dont like the look of carpet (it's allright i guess, it just seems like everyone has it). Does anyone have suggestions on what kind i should buy and maybe a lil info on how to apply it and make it look good? Thanks to everyone thats replied to my questions.

  16. I just got done discussing with someone what i am doin with my wall in the car and have found a solution, a very cheap solution. I need to have my wall flared on the inside and outside to try and achieve higher pressure levels. My port area is 16.5" wide x 11.25" tall. Look at the bottom pic to see what a Bellmouth port looks like- for my application - There is a guy around town that can make me ANY custom size, flare, etc for my wall so i told him to hold off for a couple weeks while i test other things before i venture in flare port testing. I have some questions though so i can get him to make the proper size. The outside flare can stick out of the box a MAXIMUM of 5…

Im about to start building a tube out of MDF for a sub box, but before I needed to test things out to see if I could. I also decided to take pics of it for a little tutorial if other people are wondering how to do this. I started of by finding the inner diameter I need. Im going to use this for an 8" sub with a 7" cut out. so my inner diameter is 7" Now outer diameter: I'm using 3/4 MDF so my outer diameter is 1.5 + the inner diameter' 7+ 1.5=8.5" Now I can find out how long I need to cut my board: take the outer diameter multiply times pi to get the circumference, which will equal the board length: 8.5 * 3.14 = 26.7" Board length is 26.7" Now I need the inner circumfere…

  18. Got a quick question. What does multiple runs of power cable front to back do? Does it increase voltage or help handle the amount of power being pulled from your rear battery back? I ask because I’ve had the fuse holder near the front battery melt a while back. Everything has been good for the past few months. And this just happened. So I cut off the melted part of the wire and put a new fuse holder in. And recently it’s done it again. Ive read that maybe the wire can’t handle the heat or whatever so it starts to melt. Will multiple runs of 1/0 awg help with this problem or would it be wise to just run a 2/0. My my system consists of a second battl…

I've had some crappy 12's (MTX RoadThunder) and a 500 watt Bazooka amp since I was 16. I just got a new job and wanna go big. I have a friend who has a DD 10" (2510 I think) hitting 139 db on music with 700 watts. Even though I have more money to work with, I need to keep it as cheap as possible. I really want a 15 and however many watts it takes to get loud as fuck without blowing the sub. -I was looking at FI Btl but its a little high -I know DD is good -I don't know anything about Incriminator. -people have mentioned RE the only ones of these I've seen in action is DD. This is not an SPL build, just a daily driver that I want to be louder than the crap I have now. …

I was wondering if you could send me the exact dimensions, that would be the best for the 12" BTL that I just bought from you tuned to 32HZ? The biggest size box that fits in the trunk of my Chrysler 300 is 32"wide by 35"long by 15"tall, that is the biggest size box that we can fit in there. If you could help me out that would be great.

I know that I can get better power if i upgrade wiring but I think I should be getting more out of what I already have.
