  4. I just bought a pair of 10" dcons from Stefan on this very forum yesterday. So while they are on their way I'm looking to get a box design for them. Subs up port back. Looking for the most optimal enclosure size using what ever type of port that would work better for me (slot, aero, or pvc port that sticks out of the enclosure itself) with the dimensions I have H x W x D 13" x 28" x 17" tuned to 32hz. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys, I'm goin g to try and build a glassed back dash to hold my mids. I was wondering if someone could give me any tips and mainly what I will need to do this. I've heard fleece, resin, and hardener. But which ressin and Hardner should I get? If I use wood to build the base should I use like 1/4 inch mdf or does it matter. Anyway, I wanted to get some of the materials today so anything will help. I'm going to look for a jasper jig so I will be back. Josh

Basically what im asking is that if I want to add another 15, I will build a new aero-ported box. What is a good way to estimate how much volume i should have? One of my 15's requires 3.5-4 optimal ported volume, i was thinking about increasing to 6.5-7.5 for two? Having a 12 ft^3 trunk really sucks sometimes...

Still doing my Thunderbird blowthrough build with the 2-12"BTLs but Im already looking ahead of what I can upgrade to. I know what I wanna do (no Im not telling). Soooooo I want some opinions on a enclosure I thought up. The question is really about the direction of the port. The box will be a half L and half T shape.....(removing rear seats) part of it would be in the trunk but most of the box is in the cabin. so the subs would be facing up with the port forward. reason why I want the subs up is so I can use some plexi. It'll be just above shoulder level. Leveled with the rear deck. This is what Ive drawn up. Do u think the port will be fine facing forward? note this is …

So Im collecting parts to do a blowthrough in my fullsize chevy regular cab. 1988 k1500. Just bought a crescendo 3500. gonna get a singer 250a alt and a couple 3100s and one up front. multiple runs of 0. okay so now for my question. i have been pondering ideas on sub/box setups. I have been set on 2 18s for a while, but got to thinking about 4 15s. and idk whether to a 4th order or just a regular ported box. i can do the rregular box tuning but would need some help designing a 4th order as i have read and have yet to wrap my brain around it. My goals: Daily, Hairtricks (move air yo) not super low. 30-32 (in regular box tuning terms) not sure where that would be in a 4th o…

So I have my normal starting bat up front and I'm going to put an additional battery in the rear of the car near the amps. My question is should i run a fuse near the main bat to the 2nd bat as well as in between the second bat and the amp. All in all I don't think an additional fuse would hurt anything and if they power wire ever chaffed through I think I'd be really glad I had a fuse there. any help

I've been to one spl comp and it was not even a real event, just a thing where people could get on the mic's (and audiocontrol mics at that ). I live in seattle and can not find a SINGLE spl comp anywhere near here. It seems like they are all out east. Around here we have Adire and Audiocontrol as well as Sounddomain.com / cardomain.com and other names that are getting somwhat big so my question is, why no comps around here???? -aaron

  19. Hello , I need a new box design for a friend. It is for a Soundstream XXX sub in 18". Power : a Soundstream XXX 15000 amp !!! It is too much, but it's what my friend have bought !!! He'll have to turn the gain down for daily listening. He wants to compete in spl but needs to be able to listen to music. Can he have a way to change tuning / port easily ? The box will be like a wall, panels will be added to the sides of the box to make it look & act like a real wall ! Here are the max dimensions : 38.58" (Height) x 35.43" (Width) x 31.49" (Depth). If it is too big, we can have it smaller, just tell us. He wants 45's in all corners, and some kind of slot port. No tube …

I have a Acura Integra Integra GSR, a ED 9.1 Amp, and a RL-P D4. I'm competing in the IASCA competition at the Nopi Nationals this year in Atlanta. I need help designing a box. People have told me I need a big box with alot of port area, and some people say I need a small box. So I'm confused and have no clue what to go with, I can't seem to find ANY information about any SPL box designs anywhere, out of a number of forums. If someone could help me, even with a roundabout guess of how big and how much port area I need, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I believe the resonant freq of my car is around 58 Hz, which I'm told is a good thing, I know how to tune the box and ever…

Well, here we go, I've created this in an attempt to make a tool that can help take the guess work out of all the difficult to figure on a calculator values we constantly figure for box building. I think this is a decent tool and that it could work for alot of us. I'm putting it out here for all to try and give it some real world tests. Let me know if you guys find anything wrong with the sheet just let me know I'll do my best to fix it. So here ya go, we'll try this link out first just copy/paste: =http://www.mediafire.com/file/ugzuqj4mzjw/Box Calculator.xls=

  24. Hey guys. Its time to try something new. Not sure what will happen to the sound if i tune my box higher or make it larger. I'm 1.5^3 tuned to 28hz now. love the flat response curve and helps the sub sound really low. What would happen to sq if I make the enclosure larger like 2.0^3 and/or tune higher? TIA

Hey guys, I just finished my box. Was all excited, i did i dry build first. just screw it in before glueing. After I built the box I take it outside only to find it doesnt wanna go in my car. YES I did measure twice and cut once, but i failed to measure the clearing distance of my trunk to slide it in. Here is the plan I went by 4cuft. at 35Hz Is there any way I can sacrifice any depth when putting this in my car? Height: 17" Width: 39" Depth: 16.25" Thanks for the input and flaming, Curt
