I built my box today it is around 1.75cuft and I went ahead and sealed it. I took a old circle port out of a old box I bought and it is adjustable! I was like holy crap.. anyways I believe it is a 4" port and it adjusts from I believe 4 inches in length to around 10-12 inches. What would the length of the tubing need to be for lets say.. 30-32hz?

I want to design a ported enclosure with one DD9512g to put in my single cab chevy 1500. I want it to be loud, but also as musical as possible. I have about 3.3 cuft to work with. The enclosure is going to be a center console enclosure. If I find the frequency which my vehicle peaks at, will this help me choose my tuning frequency of my enclosure?

What up SSA. Thinking about ordering a single Gcon 12" and running it ported but just want to make sure my calculations are accurate before doing so. Volume (Net): 1.81^3 ft Dimensions: 13.5" (H) x 30" (W) x 12" (D) Tuning: 32.75Hz Number/Size Port: 1 x 4" Flared Port Length: 15.5" Port Area (per cube): 6.94"^2 Vent Mach: 0.11 Is there enough Port Area? Is this a good size/volume for a 12" Gcon? Also, I plan on placing the woofer and port on the same baffle, on opposite ends. This would require a 90 degree elbow bend for the port but there should be over 7" of space between the end of the port and the subwoofer so I don't think that will be a problem.

  6. Hey fellas, I'm looking to change box design. I want it to be port forward. The dimension I have available is 32"W x 12.5"H x 29"D. It is running on a bc2000. I am trying different boxes until I can get another xcon and have no experience with 4th order builds. It will be a 98 mustang trunk wall. If there are any details you need let me know as I have no knowledge of 4th order designs. Thank you to anybody who helps.

Currently running my 12" ICON in a 1.35 cu ft sealed enclosure. The car is a hatchback. While the sub itself sounds clean and puts out decent volume, I'm often wishing it hit the lower notes a bit better and was louder. Is anyone able to help me design a ported enclosure for this sub? I'm trying to keep the footprint of the enclosure as small as possible, but I understand it'll take more space than the sealed setup currently. This is the current setup: Untitled by riored4v, on Flickr Regarding the height, i can't really go much taller since this still allows me to use my hatch cover to keep everything out of eye sight. Its at 13.5" tall. Any help would be ap…

Hello, I am building a box for a friend and I had my MDF all ready to cut, measured out panels and everything and he calls and tells me that he want an aeroported box. I have searched and read different things in this section and after figuring out slot is actually a lot more different than aero ported, I just don't get it. So, I have come for some box designing help. Dimensions: Depth: 16 Height: 16 Width: 40 It is for an Fi X 12. Was hoping for 2.0ft^3 at 32hz I really just need to know how many flared aeroports I would need with no port noise. Diameter and Length of the aeroport would be nice. Thanks in advanced, Jay

  12. I don't really want to order this stuff and have to wait for it so i wonder if i be alright using some things just lyin around the house? The space i got to fill isn't too large really. IT's about 3-4" wide and about 8" tall and the deeper the better. I was thinkin about stuffing all kinds of shirts that i dont wear anymore in there.. I'm sealing a wall and i gots to seal around a window and i'm not spraying foam on my glass so thick material is the only option. You think shirts or blanket sheets will work fine?.... then i'll just spray foam on this to complete the seal...

so my friend tried to paint the box he made for his girlfriends jeep black, but where the screws are its all messed up, and the paint is dark and light in some places and fades alot and doesnt look that appealing all together, i figure i could just use woodfiller for the spots for the screws and sand it down flat, but what about getting all the paint even and pretty? need to make one for a guy i know and he wants it painted so anything will help, thanks

Still doing my Thunderbird blowthrough build with the 2-12"BTLs but Im already looking ahead of what I can upgrade to. I know what I wanna do (no Im not telling). Soooooo I want some opinions on a enclosure I thought up. The question is really about the direction of the port. The box will be a half L and half T shape.....(removing rear seats) part of it would be in the trunk but most of the box is in the cabin. so the subs would be facing up with the port forward. reason why I want the subs up is so I can use some plexi. It'll be just above shoulder level. Leveled with the rear deck. This is what Ive drawn up. Do u think the port will be fine facing forward? note this is …

  17. I moving up from an old 200 rms orion 12" sub to 2-fi ssd's with 1600 watts to them ( or what ever my Soundstream will really put down. lol ) Now looking at the follow 2 box designs from here, ( which is super sweet that you guys posted these! ) Box 1. 12" xcon ported Box 2. 12" icon ported Outside of what appears to be an extra dolly of vertical bracing and total port area are the pretty much the same. Of course the overall dimensions are a bit different, but they have the same internal volume and tuning frequency. So which box is better? More port area make a difference when tuning is the same? Any in-site is much appreciated. Got the email today that the subs shippe…

Whats up guys...Heres a box I finished up yesterday. It is a transmission line tuned around 31Hz. Right now there is an EHQS 12 (SVC 4 ohm) in there. Amp is a JBL CS200.1. Rated at ~200 watts at 4 ohms. As for how it sounds...FUKIN AWESOME. The tonality is a lot different from the 2.5 cu ft @ 30Hz box it the EHQS was in and output is a lot higher. This thing digs deep and has usable response down to 25Hz testing with sine waves...below that it unloads and doesn't have much output. It has a pretty flat response from 28 - 60Hz. I really love how it sounds. It's easy to tell when the EHQS is reaching its mechanical limits as I can hear it bottoming out but that is…
