The diminsions i got were 15" tall, 40" wide, and around 40" deep. He has them on a kicker zx 1000.1. I just need some tips on how i should go about doing this, since i have never done one before.

I found measurements for an enclosure for my 2 12 inch pioneer champ pros tsw3002d4. The box is tuned to 33 hz. I was just curious as to whether that would be good for my subs or too low? The amp I am using is a hifionics zeus 3000 watt zrx3000.1d. This will be my first box build so I want to be as clear as possible. I used RE audio calculator if that is any good.

hello everyone, im trying to help my friend build a box for his 2 15 inch dc xls . he has a mercury mountaineer like 2001-2002 model. he wants it ported, subs facing up and port facing back . the thing is he wants plexiglass facing the rear as well so we can see the subs. idk if thats good or bad to have the plexiglass and port on the same side? also if anyone can recommend a good site or program to help me do some designs .. he wants tuning at 35hz. or if someone can sketch up a design for me with measurements that would be great! please help a brother out lol. we're looking at 15 cubic ft of space or so for the box,

I have an 08 silverado crew cab, I just bought 4 sd-2 10" shallow mounts and I need to build a 4 cubic foot ported box. I took my backseat out for now so it doesn't have to be complicated, and I am powering them with a saz2500, and if you know anyone that can build a box so I can put the seat back in that would be great too.

How could I brace my port more, or do you think it needs to be braced? Here is the bracing of the entire box, but it is also for an idea of what the port looks like... also, do you think a 45 would be helpful in my port? I don't think it would make much of a difference....

  9. Never used allthread in a high pressure install so need some small tips in this area. I know that when allthread is ran from one side to another that washers and nuts are used on both sides of a wall. So that means 1 run of allthread will have 4 washers and 4 nuts on it. What kind of washers and nuts am i suppose to use inside of the box to prevent them from coming loose? I looked at nylon lock nuts but i cant use those on the inside because to get the nuts on the inside, you have to roll em on before you slide the allthread through the other wall. So, roll nut one way then back the other way to lock in place... nylon nuts appear to only roll in one direction so i dont k…

i have two idq12's in a 1.7 cubic sealed box powered by one dls A6(875@2ohm-1200@1ohm). i listen to mostly metal so i need the sub to be able to keep up with the fast double kick-drum. the problem with my set-up is i can keep up with the beat but lack lowend. i took out my xtant 1000/1 think it was the subsonic filter frequency blocking low notes. it must be the box- what is the best application for a truck

Hi, I am just about to start my build in my explorer and I have a few questions. I will be running Phoenix gold rsd 6.5 components in the front doors, Soundstream pcs.6.5 3 ways in the back. I have a kicker zx650.4 now the question is what is the difference between active/passive? and do I have the option to do the better sounding one? Also the subwoofer box I will be building I want to put the port inbetween the 2 subs but I don't know how to calculate it that way. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

so here is my problem.. Ive never sound deadened a floor of a car but i have done everything else... so i pulled up out my seats and my carpet today so i can get started. well i noticed there's a rubber like matt and Styrofoam stuck to the floor should i try and pull this all up or am i gonna have a sticky mess?. im wondering if putting sound deadener on top of the matt would even do anything beneficial. should i just do the bare metal areas? I have 50 sq ft to put in on the floor and firewall. just trying to kill some road noise. any help is appreciated thanks a lot

Went to competition today out in South West Fort Worth.(Whole new world to me.) Got my single 12" SS SPLX back so I decided to strap both Sundowns to it for 0.5 ohm per amp and let her rip. On my Kinetik with almost no charge last night I did a 151.3 in a 60Hz SPL box. 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 60Hz with 2 4" aero ports 6 inches long with 1 coat of fiberglass resin on the inside, and the master amp at 1/2 gain. Will post up a pic of the setup and score as soon as I get them uploaded.

Here is the car and the current sub : He's planning adding one more woofer and competing in espl, something similar to bass race (track chosen by the judges). Basically, I'm looking for some ideas on woofer and port orientation from the ones that have some spl experience Right now his top score is 144db @ 36hz, db-drag style, using a single 3kw Ground Zero 1.3000 and one 15inch 4hp clone by Ground Zero (Plutonium 15). Final gear will be 2 subs and 2 Atomic 5000.1's. What port and woofer orientation ideas do you guys have ? Even some tips would be really nice

ok so i built a box for my new nightshade 18. it is just under 5 cubic feet before sub displacement but after port displacement. it is tuned to 31 hz b4 the sub. it sounds great. my question is if the port area is too small. the re calculator that i used said that the square port area was 55.5. idk if this means inches or what but im guessing inches. the sub performs great at higher frequencies but the lows are kinda lacking compared to the 18" fi q that i had before. any info would be great. also if somebody would be willing to design me an optimal box that would be great too. my dimensions are 36" wide 22" tall and 20" deep. sub and port would have to be facing up. i li…

I'm trying to build a box for a single FI BL 15, fully loaded. I want it tuned around 32-33 hz. Also my trunk in my car is kinda small height wise, so I was wondering if it was possible to put the sub on the top of the box and lower the height a little bit so the sub doesnt get close to the top of the trunk. The port I want on the front. Is that possible? The dimensions I have so far are: Width - 32 Height - 14 Depth - 25 Port Height - 12.5 Port Width - 5 Port Length 1 - 19.25 Port Length 2 - 8 62.5 inches Total Port Area, 3.8 ft^3 for box. Tuned at ~32. Would it be possible to put the sub on top of the box with this design, and still have the port on the front?

  23. I have a 2004 Cadillac SLS and am looking to fab a 4th order enclosure for 2 SA-8 V.2's on a SAZ 1500 V.3. The reason for the smaller sub is to help save room in the trunk and to still have high output. The reason for the 4th order is the infamous Cadillac trunk bass trap, so I would like to port the enclosure through the stock sub location in my rear deck. I am not too familiar with hertz levels or anything, but I can tell you that I listen to every thing from Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, and Alternative. New to the forum here and just looking for some experienced suggestions. If you would like more detail please let me know. Would like a little seasoned input before I spend …

i am trying to build a box for 4 of my kicker cvx 15's. i called kicker and they recommending using separate 3.5 cub. ft chambers tuned to 38 hz. since this is gonna be my first box build is there an easier less way to build the box without having 4 separate chambers? maybe 2 subs per port or all 4 with one port. it is going inside the car. maybe even a wall design. my available space is 32x56x36.

Alright here where Im at this is what the box looks like inside its ruffly a little over 7sq ft each side , port is 17.5 inches tall and 6" wide lenght wise its 19" then it L's with the smaller side 8.5" for a total lenght of about 28".
