This setup will be in a 1985 celebrity wagon. I want insane, air moving hard hitting lows. Two different setups.... 1. I was considering a wall running directly behind the front seats with 4 L7 15's and the most port I can run and still have a low tune. I'm guessing about 300 square inches of port. 2.Another idea I was considering was running a huge box with subs up and port up that starts with the box directly behind the front seats and takes up all cargo area, but keep the box just tall enough to have the port firing on the angled back glass. Of course the port will be as big and tuned as low as I can logically make it. On the 2nd idea I was going to run a lot more c…

Hello , I need a new box design for a friend. It is for a Soundstream XXX sub in 18". Power : a Soundstream XXX 15000 amp !!! It is too much, but it's what my friend have bought !!! He'll have to turn the gain down for daily listening. He wants to compete in spl but needs to be able to listen to music. Can he have a way to change tuning / port easily ? The box will be like a wall, panels will be added to the sides of the box to make it look & act like a real wall ! Here are the max dimensions : 38.58" (Height) x 35.43" (Width) x 31.49" (Depth). If it is too big, we can have it smaller, just tell us. He wants 45's in all corners, and some kind of slot port. No tube …

I found a sweet deal I just picked up a killer old school soundstream Rubicon 1002. The blue one. It does 250x2@4 underrated, and 1000x1 at 4 ohm and 2. Will be PLENTY of power for the old front stage. And just a all around sweet amp And I've seen them sell for $250+. I got it for $85... nice...

I have a number of questions that I was hoping someone with experience can answer. I'm currently running a 15" BTL off 1600 in a 4 cube enclosure at 33hz. I feel like I don't have enough port area- i'm using one 6" aero which gives me 28" of port and 7" per cube. Do you think i'd have a noticeable difference by switching to a larger 8" port? I already bought the port, but don't want to destoy my old box if there wont' even be a noticeable difference. I'm hoping to achieve better lows...I figure that my larger port will give more output/peak at my tuning frequency of 33hz, hence giving me a better low end. In doing so, i'll also gain slightly more volume in my box (…

ok so one night i was sitting around thinking up some new box ideas. i really want to have my sub facing forward into the cab of my car, and have the port be on top of the subwoofer. so i was doing some concepting and came up with this, Pdf of box idea. I just want to know if it will work before i start building i forgot to put notes so.... notes: 1. double baffle front plate 2. round port edges 3. 2.8 ^3 feet of airspace after all displacement 4. 3/4" mdf or particle board used. its going to be firing forward with the trunk sealed from the cabin. thanks, Anton Miller

My frnd recently accuired two RFP3SD subs but my knowledge on box design for these shallow subs are limited. Please help me with box capacity and tuning(ported). I know normal RF subs like a bitt of high tuning but for these ...i have no clue if they will like it to be different. His goal is to squeeze it in a GETZ so space is a problem, if one will fit better, we might just go that way but he refuses to change subs so ill try and get this working for him. He want it loud with a bit of oomf but IDK so would appreciate your imput. Thanks guys.

Vehicle : 2002 Toyota Avalon XLS Location in the vehicle: Trunk with rear armrest access port Space available (Length x Width x Height): 22"x42"x16" Subwoofer make and model: SSA XCON 12 D1 Number of Subwoofers: 1 for now. Type of Port (Kerfed, Slot, Aero, etc.): Kerfed would be optimal, Slot if not kerf. What type of music do you like?: Electronic, Drum n Bass, Classic Rock, Alternative, Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B. Is your goal SPL or Everyday Music?: Everyday Music geared towards SQ Tuning Freq (Hz): 28-30 or so Volume : 2.5-3.0 Questions: 1. I plan on only giving about 600-1200w by a Crescendo BC2000D, should I have the volume of the box be closer to 3.0 to maximize effici…

A buddy of mine came to me the other day with 2 15s and wanted me to make a box that would fit in a 1999 Buick Park Ave. With a Height of only 14 inches its gowning to be a Wedge Enclosure. My ? is should i port the box in the front or in the back? The back seats do not fold down but in between the seats the arm rest folds down and gives a quick access hole that is 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 to the trunk. I was thinking of putting the port right there but im not shore. pic of trunk access hole http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_image...9377_5_full.jpg

I just got my Fi Q 12" back from getting reconed and now I want to build a ported box. I've never built a ported box and wanted to see if these numbers were right. I downloaded the torres box calculator thing and punched in some numbers that seem to work, but I'm not positive if it's right or not. I have a maximum of 30" W, 15.5" H. Depth has no limit but I'd like to keep it a minimum. I just want a good daily box and was basing this off Fi's recommended 32hz.

ok this is what im working with, i have a 94 corolla 4dr the the subs will be in the trunk faceing the front. the box will be sealed off from the cab. im going to be useing 2-15pbx subs and 2-optidrive2000d (4000w @ 1ohm). the box will be 5cuft @35-38hz w/100sqin port area. ive hit high 130s db with just 1-8" sub w/around 250w on my meter (termlab) so i think i can do it ... so if anybody knows of someone who has hit 150 or over with a trunk setup have them holla at me, or you can just tell me what they did.... thanks jamie

I'm not very good with box designs but what do you, and by you I mean people that know about this stuff, think of running 1 SSA DCON in at roughly 2.5- 3ft^3 box with a passive radiator??? I like the idea and it would solve a few issues for me, but Im not shure how it would sound. I know thats a pretty big box for a DCON so what would the consequenses be?? This would be in a foward firing box in an 02 ext cab GMC sierra running at about 400watts. I know nothing about passive radiators except that there supposed to act kinda like ports, I think, so any help with tunning or suggesting a specific radiator would be appriciated.

Hello, At the moment, I have 2 Kenwood 12's (4 Ohms, 400rms) in separate ported enclosures that I built. It was my first time building a sub enclosure, and I don't think I did it right. I have an alpine MRP-M500 amp running at 300wrms at 4ohms. I listen to rap, and when I play a song that goes really low (Put on- jeezy for example) the lowest note is really quiet. I'm assuming its a combination of the wrong box specs and them being underpowered? I'm planning on getting a new system in a couple months, but until then, I'd like to fix my current one and in the process, I'd be getting another box build under my belt to practice for my next one. My goal is to make it louder,…

*hint hint My buddy is looking to build a center console box for an IA Lethal Injection 15. Looking at 3.5 cu ft ~50 inches of port and tuned to 32 Hz. Looking for suggestions and possible cut sheet. Going into a single cab dodge. From the back wall to as far forward as possible without losing cup holder is 48", between the seats is 14.75" and we're hoping to stay as low as possible for a custom arm-rest. Is this possible? How should he mount the sub? Trying to get as much SPL as he can for daily music listening. Driver displacement is 0.15 cu ft. I'd appreciate the help guys.

Sorry for all the questions lately, but i'm getting very close to having my box complete, and want everything to be right. So, has anyone used bed liner for their boxes? I really like the look of it, and i really dont like the look of carpet (it's allright i guess, it just seems like everyone has it). Does anyone have suggestions on what kind i should buy and maybe a lil info on how to apply it and make it look good? Thanks to everyone thats replied to my questions.

Hey guys, I am in the talks with Steve, the owner of subthump.com. They make some of the best sealed prefabbed boxes I have ever dealt with. They are simply amazing, the prices are budget friendly. Their main focus are on sealed boxes, because they aim at the people who are on a budget and they can mass produce. So I have been throwing emails back and forth and emphazised how much pupularity there is out there for the Sundown Audio SA8's. Now we all know these things shine better in ported boxes. My box building days are over and subthump is nortorious for squeezing out as much air space and the deepest depth for subwoofers. Here is my first subthump box. Ran this box in…

Okay, so...I am going to start my build for two 15" fi bl's in the trunk of my 97 chysler sebring, I can not quite remember what specifications, but it will be about 7 to 8 cubic feet. I am not sure whether it would sound better with the port facing in side the cab or toward the opening of the trunk, the subs will be facing up, and about 30-32 hz. Any input would be appreciated Thank,
