US AMPS

  1. Many people say that the old school us amps were better probably because they were made in the US.At least in the 21st Century how good or bad in terms of circuitry are the amps compared to old.( I know US Amps AX Line are made here)

Hi guys, new to the forum... just looking for some input from people that are familiar with US Amps and RE Audio. I just dropped some cash for my new system, and was curious about your opinions on my choices. I haven't installed anything yet except the deck as the amps and cap won't be here until next week: 2001 GMC Sierra Stepside - (STANDARD CAB!) Head Unit: Pioneer BT9800 (Bluetooth rocks on this deck!) Subs: 2 RE Audio SE 10 inch (new logo) - will be wired to 1 ohm Enclosure: Custom Built Sealed @ .65 cu ft each (optimum according to RE) - 3\4" MDF (Air tight, trust me!) I have 2 US Amps Md3's strapped. My question is will both of the amps be putting out AC Voltage or just the master? I went out there today and on music my master was putting out AC volts but my slave was not putting out any AC volts. Both of my subs work and they are wired seperate so both amps are working but the slave is not reading any AC voltage.

Will these amps do rated power? I have heard mixed reviews about the power they put out some say they will do the power plus some and others say that they will not make power. Also how is the build quality I have heard that they have went downhill compared to their older amps. And if they do rated power at what voltage do they achieve it, I am assuming 14.4 which I will never see my truck idles at 13.8 and runs at 14-14.2 at 2000 RPMs also how efficient are they? Pretty much are they worth the money or are there better built amps that do more power for the money?

  16. Hi guys, last weekend I picked up 2 of the US Amps AX1000 (for now), and I'm using them to run (3) 2 ohm Cadence Wild Beast subs (for now). How do you strap the amps together without using the magic "MLT" box? Under the plexiglass, I can see the "master/slave" switches for both channels, but I'm a little leary doing anything to the circuit board without some instruction. Down the road, I'm planning on adding at least 2 more AX1000's and one more sub, but this current set up will get me thru the week. Thanks, in advance

Has anyone benched one yet to see how much power they put out? I am wanting to know how much continuous power they have been tested to put out at a 1 ohm load, before clipping, at what voltage did it put out that power, what THD, etc. I just want to hear from some people that have actually tested them

What size wire should i use for this amp. I will be running it @ 1ohm to two rl-i10's. USamps website says 1200rms @ 1ohm, but I've read here that its 800rms @ 1 ohm. Thanks Ben

I have two of the 2004 model MD2D amps and was wondering if they were strappable or if it was a god idea to do so? I'm planning on running them on two Orion H2 15's with dual 4 ohm coils. Would i be safer to just run each amp to a single sub?

Hey guys I was curious if anyone had any idea what a US Amps 3000 de 2006 model should sell for. It is still new in the box. I have one that I will be selling and would like some idea as to what to expect. I was going to use EBAY but after looking at amps there I am thinking twice. Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to lose too much money on this if possible. Thanks. Charles

Hey guys what are the real Dimensions ofthe 2007 US Amps Merlin Series? I'm interested in the MD-3D and the MD-21 but since i'm tight on space i wanna know the real Dimensions before i buy. Here on SSA I've seen that the MD-21 WxHxD is 7.9 x 2.5 x 8.75, on www.woofersetc.com I've seen it the same, but on their website it is WxHxD is 10.5 x 2.5 x 10.75.(now what?) The MD-3D here on SSA it is ?? x 2.5 x 8.75 WxHxD the W is unknow( wich in my case it's very important), on WoofersEtc.com it is WxHxD: 13.8 x 2.5 x 8.75 and on their WebSite it is WxHxD: 21.75 x 2.5 x 10.5, now I'm very confused and i realy need to know the real dimension mainly the W(L) thus how long they are…

Hi guys! Came to find out how people thought of the various usa/re-audio amps - thanks for all the info! But a suggestion - the pinned topics are the 2007 models? there is a 2009 model thread and we are already into the 2010 range (my local dealer has the gen2 xt v3 coming next week) maybe turn the pinned thread into a specs round up with all the models by release date? Thanks again, Jen (doing install for a 1999 delica rv)
