Ok guys I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the run time on my 2009 ford escape xlt factory remote starter. It didn't come from the factory with the starter I just had the factory unit put in a couple of months ago and noticed today that it only runs for 10 minutes and it was supposed to be set to the 15 min setting. I called the dealer ship but they can't get me in for 2 weeks. Is it something that I can do? I looked over the book from the starter but it doesn't say how to change the run time.

But thinking i can put it under my dads name and save and just pay him the money lol. Also I dont want to start wt a 600, because i feel like im way to big lol, feels like im riding a scooter. but just an open topic really thoughts, concerns, pics, ect lol

Ok so I've been looking for a new vehicle lately and I came across an interesting find. 97 Nissan Hardbody Pickup Truck. 2 wheel drive, 4cyl 5 spd. Single cab. It's a one owner truck, looks and runs great. Seller is local (15 min from my house). They're asking $2900 which is too high but negotiable (I'm thinking $2000 tops). Only problem I have with the truck is the mileage, 200k I really want to make something nice out of it. Rims, lower/bags, possibly blowthrough Wanted to know your honest opinion. All the research I've done leads me to believe the truck is extremely reliable and cheap to fix. What do YOU think?

well my brakes went out and have been out for a while, but the brake fluid things are full of fluid so i know its not a leak in that, so i was told maybe its the master cyclinder or, just bleed the brakes maybe theres an air bubble or air in the lines, its gonna cost alot to fix but i would like to know if any way at possible to check to know for sure whats wrong with it, like how to check for the leaks etc, i cant move the car unless i want to pull the Ebreak the whole time i was wonderin if i should bleed the brakes and then go get a free check up? Or would that be just stupid? idk i just really would like to know yalls opinions Thanks!

Hello, I have a simple question and was wondering if anybody has tried or seen this done before and thoughts on it. Its been on my mind ever since seeing it at my last job. This kind of cable is not nearly has flexible, I understand that part, but instead of smaller strands of threaded copper this kind of cableing is like, really think copper which is why I even ask. Since it is made up of thicker copper, then I would assume that it would be able to carry more current than normal cableing we see in most car audio applications. While upgrading my electrical, I was just wondering if this would be a logical move or should there be any reasons to steer away from it. My i…

Alright So as of the past 2 months I've been having really odd electrical issues. Like my voltagge wouldnt stay up and like my battery would die quite often. So i drive over to a friends and we change my alternator and throw the battery from his blazer in and everything was good. Well I got my system in and I was getting sick of having no bump!!!! So i throw my yellow top back in (biggest POS in my eyes) and everything was fine... Up until last week. I was driving home and i looked down at my factory volt gauge and i noticed it was hovering around 12 volts. So i was like oh sh*#. I push the gas more so the tranny will downshift and get more rotation on the alternator. Doe…

I stopped at the store today and parked it and then came back and started it up, sounded fine, then put it into reverse and apply the gas a little. It acted as though it was stuttering. So I put it in drive and same thing, it stutters no matter how much I push the petal, it will not go above 5 mph or above about 1.5k rpm. As I got on the road I had to pull it over and troubleshoot because It was just to slow. If I had to describe what it felt like...It was the feeling of putting a manual car into 5th gear and trying to make it go from a stand still. Acts as though it's about to stall out but it never did. So first, I put it into park, turned off the truck, turned it back …

I finally did it! I got a AD244 in my '97 Grand Prix with this bracket - http://store.alternatorparts.com/a500-cs130d-ad230-ad237-to-ad244-cs144-conversion-bracket.aspx I researched for a while now, had to shave a little off the alt., but it bolted up and plugged it in and works great. I would post pics but can't figure out how with the new layout. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/423922_2522769080805_1600682969_3457785_1143037732_n.jpg

Limited by your own imagination, i'm trying to find some unique things i can do with this new remote.. I have 3 channels left. One unique thing i have thought about is being able to open garage door with it... But since Viper no longer makes a compatible kit for their newer alarms, no such device exists as far as i know.. Anyone have an idea on this or something else that is possible and unique?

So jim cursed me, misread one of the off-topic posts and thought something was wrong with my car, and now there is. first...the car.... 98 dodge stratus 2.4l auto 130k miles (for our canadian brethren) the problem, i get in the car, crank it up, and something is vibrating in the engine, almost like a rod knock, but its not as...metallic, and it vibrates the whole vehicle, since you all are audio people you'll know what i mean, its like right at the resonance freq of the plastic inside the car or something. When does it do it? here is the strange part, i noticed it while parked, eliminating a good number of things, like wheel bearing (you'll understand later) and …

My mom said Ican buy it for a project car, it's a 1986 Nissan 300ZX, it has 184,000 miles and is a 5 speed. I had to get it towed to my house because it hasn't been ran in such a long time. The guy recommended I change the fluids, drain the tank, do a tune up and replcae the belt. The engine is a VG30E V6 motor. http://grannys.tripod.com/2N6VG30.html at the bottom are the specs I believe I believe it would be a bit harder to start a car that has been sitting for a period of 3-4 years, this is a type of thread, but thanks for your help! give me some support for a new project!

So, as this is only my second car, and I haven't managed to roll this one yet, I've had enough time to start needing to maintain my truck lol. I'm about to order new rear shocks tomorrow since my rear left is the lowest point on the car, like two or three inches below the front left and rear right, and want to know if any of you guys here who are significantly more mechanically inclined than myself, can you recommend me any better than these for the price? http://m.autoanything.com/suspension-systems/61A2642A0A0.aspx

i picked this truck up a few weeks ago, for almost a steal, its a 1993 6.5 turbo with a 5 speed, crew cab long bed. it runs drives but bellows white smoke at start up and does so for 15 mins or so untill its hot, then it smokes no longer, i have been trouble shooting the smoke issue, turns out it can be alot of things. currently i am going thru the glow plugs, and what nots hoping this fixs it, if not it can be fuel injectors, injector pump timing chain fuel return, i have narrowed it down to those as the smoke smells of raw fuel. and not anti freeze, and i also do not use any. this should be a good truck to have around, for the jet skies, to pull my car around to l…

Who has done this? I want to change my gauges color, I'm sure I could just dive in and do it. But I want someone who has done it before to chime in and give me some tips and answer a few questions for me. Does AutoZone carry what I need? O'Riellys? Napa? Pep Boys? What was the hardest part of the swap? Is the new color annoyingly bright at night?
