I am opening the pre-order for the SAE-1000D as of today. Pre-Order Pricing: 1x SAE-1000D = $250 2x SAE-1000D = $450 MSRP pricing is $399 per amplifier. The due date is April 25th but these things tend to be 1 - 2 weeks late due to delays in transit so that is not a guaranteed ship date. I would expect to ship these, realistically, by May 9th. If you are in a rush I would not place a pre-order due to the possibility of delays. Paypal to [email protected] -- these prices include shipping in the USA. If you want to pre-order in Canada you must contact Steve Ross @ Smart Auto Sound Solutions in Canada. Pre-Order will be open until April 25th, after that you will have…

Hello Every Body, I already spoke to Jake about this and I asked him not to mention it until I was ready. But here it is. I finally....finally....FINALLY....got to test two SAZ3000D's in a dbDrag street A application. Now this is kinda crazy but here it goes. I first tested one amp at 0.25ohm by itself. The results were 71.3 amps, 52.1 volts gave 3714.73 watts with a box rise of 0.73ohms. The amp continued to go into protect after 2 seconds into the rolled up burp. I then tested the amps at 1 ohm the results amps: 38.5 volts: 78.3 watts: 3014.55 box rise of 2.03 Second amp gave 2939 watts with same box rise. I then tested the two amps strapped at 1 ohm(each amp sees 0.5o…

I got some photos of the prototypes in from my factory -- they are looking good. Of course the terminals will be bent down and whatnot in production. The motor is equal to the NeoPro-8 model. The only negative is that I am not sure how pricing will go on these Neo drivers -- Neo prices are going crazy and it may result in the NeoPro drivers rising in price. For reference... I got Neo quotes for my big Neo SPL motor and it was 300% higher than in 2009 -- no joke! BUT I will try to keep making them if possible as people really do enjoy them  We'll probably do some testing in Derrick's ride to see how they do.

The market seems to be apprehensive about adopting a small and efficient SQ speaker, seems that most consumers are interested in putting huge power into woofers these days So... the SD-1 model is being closed out and discontinued due to sluggish sales. They will still carry full warranty as I will hold onto some of them for warranty replacements: http://www.sundownaudio.com/ppsd10.html -- 10" Model Information http://www.sundownaudio.com/ppsd12.html -- 12" Model Information These subs actually perform very well but have really been slow sellers... see some first hand reviews here: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=9883 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio…

Been working on these for a while but haven't said much... but Andy @ Vex has posted some videos so figured I'll open it up now -- some photos : I have requested spring loaded terminals for production since I hate spades... also will have our logo on them. They are all single 8-ohm so more can be wired to one amp -- the 200.4 can power 32 of them Flat, tied down tinsel leads as I could still hear lead-slap on mid-bass heavy material on our first sample... good quality paper cone... vented neo motor for high power handling. What is different ? Well... we made a real CAR speaker here. They will have great mid-bass in IB or sealed -- this sacrificed some of the sensit…

Had a few requests for videos. Made one playing "Trap or Die" by Jeezy. Seemed to be about the same on the meter door open or closed. Link to video : Four of the new SA-12s being used on two 3500Ds @ 1 ohm each (turned down of course as these are 600-watt rated subs).

Some may recall the 2008 prototype "Monster" woofer that inspired features later found in several other drivers we make today. It's been shelved for some time... but a second revision of the prototype has been started on and we'll have some testing coming up. * Compounded smooth machining on the top plate with the NS v.2 style cross drilling. I am testing more with a top shorting ring on this design -- that is not necessarily something that will see production. * Again you see numerous smooth transitions on the back plate so we don't have excess steel where it's not needed (weight concerns). Also makes it look very interesting and unique. The goal is to replicate what I…

This is for the Saz-1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 3500 and up as well as the Sae-1200. Lets start out by saying that these amps are mono block amps. This means they are internally bridged (paralleled). First lets take a look at the sub. Unless you trim the wire down two 8 gauge are not going to fit in one terminal (if you want to parallel the coils at the sub). So, what I do is parallel the coils at the box. This is a picture of the speaker wires inside the box. This is what it looks like on the outside. Since the coils are paralleled on the inside of the box with the bolts, all you have to do is send two positives and two negatives to the amp. You can even put a set of …

At this time these are just known as the "X10 and X12" speakers. The photos are of the first prototypes. I am already working on revising the prototypes with several important improvements. These are geared towards "daily beating" and are made to be used as a pair with either an SAE-1000D or SAZ-1500D. Sound quality is good, but output at moderate power levels is the number one goal. * Basket with extremely long clearances. The motor also has enough clearance to travel over 33mm rearward before bottoming out, this is well beyond linear coil travel limits. * Vented pole and vented gap for increased power handling. * The cone is a fiberglass weave with paper composite ba…

Okay... so this has been under wraps for a while, but it's time to talk about it now. These will probably be coming out around the same time as the SAZ-3000D so I'll let out some information now! A few small changes may happen before release but this is the idea. A joint venture between Stereo Integrity and Sundown Audio, the "Sundown Audio Integrity E12" subwoofer. Dropped it in my Civic, with no engine at this time, and pulled 140.0 dB @ 51 Hz without any tweaking of any kind and in a rigged up box that used to be sealed for two 12" woofers... A few pics of the whole deal: * The E12 next to the Nightshade 15" woofer * The E12 chilling out in the Civic. It was 1 dB lou…

I have started development on our Z v.3 woofer -- it is designed to increase thermal capacity a bit from the v.2 and also to be available for a lower price. We are outsourcing the build to our build house that we use for the SA series... BUT we are shipping USA made coils from Precision Econowind over to be used in them The advantage of USA coils ? The Z v.3 passed a 1500-watt 60 Hz sine wave test for 5 minutes with a Chinese coil... but they only take 300 degrees! Well... American coils take 500 degrees! So think that over a bit We are talking 66% higher temperature handling and the speaker already passed the thermal test with the lower temperature coil. Trade offs vs.…

This is the specs for the box. The main part is built Im finishing the rest when it can be done. AS it can be done. Whats left is cutting out the holes for the subs, and cutting out the hole for the port to go in. tuning is right at 35HZ with 2 Cubes of port! THIS IS THE BOX IM USING CURRENTLY...INSIDE THE NEW BOX!!! nice This is funny because the current box at .6 cubes seems WAY louder than my friends (2) MTX 12's in 4th order slotted band-pass. Some kinda of pre-fab looking box that I don think was pre-fabricated.

so im trying to decide wether i should buy a sundowns amp or a kicker amp. Ive heard a lot of people saying that sundowns sucks and their amps are for little girls. I dont know what to believe, ive looked on the internet and seen some bench tests showing sundowns 1500 watt amps being able to do 3423 watts @ .5 ohms. That seems a little unrealistic, I need the most wattage possible, and if sundowns amps are terrific then im sure I will become a sundowns fan boi and become in love with all other sundowns owners.

So... SA-8 a little too big / powerful / deep for you ? I'm working on the E8 v.2 model as well for those of you who fit that description. THERE IS NO ETA OR PRICE YET - MY PROTOTYPE JUST GOT HERE TODAY! Works a bit better sealed as well -- very close to the E8 v.1 in sealed performance. Sticking to the 200 RMS rating of the E8 v.1 but this model is alot more robust -- I did alot of thinking over the last year or so about how to make an affordable 8" driver that can take more abuse than the E8 v.1 could... and this is what I came up with. It will be cheaper than the SA-8 but, obviously, more expensive than the E8 v.1 model. Magnet is 6mm narrower than the SA-8 and only a …

Pre-Orders for the SD-1 v.2 are open now. I expect to have them before the end of the year. The pre-order will go on until December 14th (extended from the 7th). DESCRIPTION: These subs will throw down in very small enclosures and will now handle much more power than the original SD-1. Ideal for shallow truck enclosures! They utilize a single 6" diameter magnet slug to achieve the necessary flux. Behind the cone you will find a progressive roll spider and a special treatment applied to the back of surround and upper lip of the cone to get more stability from the surround and to bring the Mms to where it needed to be. The leads are offset out to the sides and slightly rais…

I am discontinuing the SAX-50.4 and the Sundown Z15 Woofer. Paypal me at [email protected] to order. The SAX-50.4 close-out is also available at any authorized dealer -- the Z15 close-out is only available from me directly. ---------- SAX-50.4 -- $200 shipped in continental 48 states I will still include a 2-year warranty on these. Most customers shopping for an amp at this power level are more concerned about $ to watt and less about crossover flexibility. So we are closing out the 50.4 and will be developing a less expensive model to replace it without as much crossover flexibility to offer more watts per dollar. ---------- Sundown Z15 D2 or D4 -- $250 shipped…
